I'm so tired. I think I need to quit and work a less demanding job. I have a 3 year old and an 11 month old. My husband works out of the house. I work during the day and most nights until 2am.

Do what’s good for you as long as you have the means for. Raising kids is not an easy task, and it’s by itself, a full time job. You can always go back to the job market later, but you can never go back to your kid’s childhood!

Either quit or try to negotiate to be part time if you like the time, just not the hours. And be firm on ending at the agreed upon time.

Hang in there mom. I have a 1.5 year old and every day is living hell

If you haven’t already, I would strongly suggest hiring outside help including the time between dinner and bedtime if your husband is home late.

Does anyone have input on an au pair? We are expecting our fourth child. So we will have four under four. I’m thinking that hiring an au pair would be more cost effective and convenient than daycare but I’d love to hear about some personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. A month ago I gave my boss a formal letter requesting a review of my current job duties and a salary adjustment and title change. I’m performing at a senior level and not being paid for it. She agreed with the argument and submitted request to HR. Last week I asked her for an update and she casually said it will probably take three more months bc HR is so backed up and dropped it. I’m grossly underpaid and getting more tasks daily. What can I do? Can this be retroactive? I’m so fed up.

Is anyone living on different floors with ~1 year old? Does it work, PROs, CONs? Our master bedroom is upstairs. There are two bedrooms downstairs so I always thought we’d use one of those rooms as our bedroom so we’re on the same floor with baby but it seems husband wants to stay upstairs. And he’s using one of the rooms downstairs as a home office. We bought this house so cannot move in the short term.

Fellow moms, I need advice. My daughter is in second grade and she is not meeting her targets for math. Or as they used to say when I was 7, she failed a test. I’m a little concerned because I can’t teach her. Anyway, I want to enroll her in some kind of math tutoring. Any thoughts on a tutoring service? Please, no criticism on whether a 7 year old needs math tutoring. She told me she hates math- which she is totally picking up from other girls, I’m sure because we are a math positive home.

Looking for support & validation.
I’m divorced & have 2 boys, 6 & 4 yo. Last week I took the 6 yo for a pedicure and he chose blue nail polish, well aware that he didn’t have to choose any at all. FFW to this week. It’s a “boys weekend” (kids w/dad). Their grandad is also in town, since Wed. Dad has called to ask to have the boys in the evenings (i have W &Th, always). I have said “ok, but only if you don’t say anything negative about the polish.” So… they haven’t seen them. This hurts.

Hi Moms. I’m 4.5mo postpartum with my first, and I’m having incredible feelings of resentment toward my husband, who I love dearly and with whom I’ve always had a great relationship. It feels like he’s not factoring me or the baby into his decisions (e.g. going on a 4d boys trip, attending big events), while I’m left with the consequences. My mat leave is ending, and he’s now sick with COVID. He’s quarantining at my in-laws while I return to work and take care of baby. I’m so frustrated… (cont.)

New country and new job, I want to ensure I save and invest money correctly. We need a car and soon enough our home, staying in a rental accommodation for now which is just enough for 2 of us. Any suggestions on talking to a financial planner, does that help? And any platform where we have financial planners to choose from?

Is there a minimum time you need to be back at work between maternity leaves to get the paid time off?

I am starting at a Big4 firm 4 months pregnant and plan to take maternity leave. Sadly, it won’t be the 20+ weeks that others take since I will not have been there for a year. How crazy am I?

The baby is coming in December. How can I request to rollover more vacation days to next year, since I can not take any in December?
