I’m sorry, but technology is ruining everything. It’s shit. Information, relationships, mental health…advertising. Hate if you want, but are things really better with all the new, shiny crap we have around us? Be honest.

You work at the wrong place. You don't belong there. They do good work with tech.

Interesting place to work if you feel that way!

I don't know that it's just technology. All this consumerism is grossly out of control. I had to hit the Apple Store yesterday and the mall's parking lot was packed at 11:30am on a Thursday.

But I'm in advertising, so clearly I'm a hypocrite.

Tech makes me feel less anxious. I'm in control.

Ignorance is not bliss.

OP, define technology? The steam engine, electricity, washers and dryers are technology. Are you referring to social media and/or smart phones specifically?

Currently working as an estimator for Progressive. I work from home 100% of the time from the Boston area. I am looking for any in-site into other work from home insurance jobs. I’m starting to explore new companies but places all tend to have their own wording for what they call a position. Looking for ideas on what they pay as well. Let’s be real, nobody likes wasting time on a application and interview to get a lower offer. Thank you.

I’m really struggling in my current role. I’m a contractor with a healthcare company. When I interviewed for this BA role, I was very forthcoming in that I am not a coder/programmer in any way. “You don’t need to be at all!” 90 days in, they are disappointed that I can’t code in SQL at an advanced level. Next to no training and the training that was provided has been by a developer…who doesn’t get why I don’t know how to code. They are holding on converting me because of this. I’m just lost.
