Multi monitor setup, a sit/stand desk, but honestly a good chair. You’ll spend most of your time in that chair so it makes sense to spend a higher $ there.

like

I have a Steelcase Leap v2 and it’s the best investment I ever made. You can get amazing high quality chairs refurbished off of office supply websites for much cheaper than their brand website price.

In addition to the recommendations for a good chair and multiple monitors, remember that you are occasionally going need to unplug because you are traveling or if you decide work from Starbucks for a change. Buy a second power supply, mouse, etc. that you keep in your laptop bag, separate from your regular office setup. That way, when you want/need to relocate you aren't having to crawl under your desk and thread wires through access ports.

You will go through dozens of cheap crappy chairs before you finally just buy a Herman Miller.

like

If you buy one thing, invest in a Herman Miller Aeron chair. Buying one second hand from an office suppliers will save you 70%

I never thought to look for a used one! Any office suppliers you'd recommend?

Three words...Herman Miller Chair

Standing desk is a game changer

like

Definitely a quality chair. But don't just read reviews on line. Find a place to go try them out, because it's different for everyone. The most expensive will be a great chair, but it might not be the best for you.
Then a good quality monitor with a quality screen. Go better over bigger if you have to compromise. You'll be staring at it all day.
And lastly, anything that can make help set up your work area as a separate space from they rest of your home.

Forget multi-monitors and go for the Samsung Odyssey G9 49”. (Can fit 3 screens on 1 without any bezel)

like

Ergonomic mouse. It is a transition but MUCH better for you in the long run.

I go for multi-monitor as well, but nice speakers can do wonders!

like

Nice headphones for the conference calls

like

Standing desk, and a really good chair.

Because of supply chain issues, I got a really really wide single external monitor, but I would have really really preferred two smaller external monitors instead since I like to keep one vertical and one horizontal (helps with my workflow).

like

A standing desk with a whiteboard on top to help take meeting notes or to keep track of a to-do list throughout the day

like

1 a great computer, a laptop for travel, and tablet with cell service for when your mobile. These are the most expensive but a high end computer today that will last a long time will save money in the long run, laptop and tablet are optional but really help if you are on the go alot like me.
2 a good comfortable chair
3 multiple monitors for multiple tasks
4 a good webcam for video
5 either a high end microphone or headset with microphone to take calls and something comfortable so you can have it on all day and not get fatigued.

like

Quality 32” display. Mechanical keyboard. Good mouse or wacom (having been through wrist pain issues). Quality chair. Blue light glasses. A nice, easy to keep alive plant (no joke). IPad so you can easily stand or move around when on video conf, also great for taking notes / sketching ideas with the pencil.

like

Go for ultrawide over two monitors it’s easier

A rogue echo bike

like

I have a monitor arm from humanscale. Got from my company, they’re expensive. Love it, gives full flexibility in arranging your monitor

like

Hi! A comfortable chair would be the first on the list. A cozy setup. AC in your room/office if you can. Nice earphones. And probably a table plant for aesthetics.

I am curious. When you evaluate a student, do you always feel the student truly met criteria or do you feel like you are sometimes grasping at straws to qualify a student to make a teacher or principal happy? I evaluated a student who we qualified under Autism Spectrum Disorder because he talked a lot, but not during instruction. He didn’t have many friends either. But could that have been a friendship group with the social worker.

What are good activities to do on weekends from home considering lockdown? I generally smoke a J and watch movies and order in

Home office revamp recommendations:
1. Autonomous standing desk: honestly the best desk ever! Order arrived in 3 days, even better quality than I imagined. I got the L shape one, fits 3 monitors and a laptop comfortably on one side. Now I stand while taking calls. I wish I had it last year during busy season. Oh I have a promo code if anyone is interested: R- 200les
2. Steelcase gesture office chair: same chair as PwC office.
