Congrats and welcome aboard! Honest thoughts below:
1) for deep LS / healthcare exposure, you’ve made a great choice!
2) WLB is “good” (compared to our friends in MBB/B4) for the generous compensation
3) I’ve personally been on 100% strategy projects with little need for heavy analytics. It depends on your track (SIP, DA, BT, etc) and space (P&LS, S&T, V&A, etc)
@Fractal 1, it’s important to note that BOAC and SIPA are different in two key ways.
The first is “track” (what part of the ZS business you’re in). BO (Business Operations) and SIP (Strategy Insights & Planning) are two different tracks. SIP (along with DA) are the main “management consulting” tracks, while BO and BT (Business Technology) are more about deep technical implementation.
The second difference is “AC” (Associate Consultant) and “A” (Associate). AC’s are 1 promotion above A’s. A “BOAC” then, is a Business Operations Associate Consultant (as opposed to a SIP-AC).
Because of both these distinctions, and because I don’t work with many folks in the BO track, I unfortunately can’t give you a great answer into what they do differently. At a high level, AC’s have more project leadership responsibility than A’s and SIP has more strategy work than BO.
Welcome! There are quite a few other spaces & work types at ZS outside of our data & analytics work. I would just explore the website & pick a couple you're particularly interested in, and discuss them with your staffing partner once you join the Firm.
Best of luck!
Also joining soon for the SF office as SIP. Any thoughts on what kind of work I will get in that office/ track?
I’m happy to tell more about the different areas you can explore and thrive at ZS based on your interests. DM me.
