I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

Anyone had any success with Corp Dev roles, particularly in tech? Really striking out recently as it seems most hiring managers are exclusively looking for IB/PE experience and don’t really value FDD as an equivalent path.

Lately I’ve just felt extremely unrewarded with my job. I have been looking into other fields… maybe going to corp dev or PE?

Has anyone made the jump from FDD into one of these roles? If so, are you willing to share how you did it and how you like it?

Hi,

I have been trying to job search since a long time but been unsuccessful.

Background - CFA, Indian CA
2.5 years in global MNC corporate finance and deloitte advisory in India
1 year internship in VC in usa currently.

Unable to make a move with VC, no luck at MM IB Analyst roles or Valuations.

Considering the changing job market, I'm looking at getting back at big4 asap that helps me get my career on track to get to IB, VC, PE.

Or other option is corporate FP&A.
Please advise. TIA

RSM TAS Senior opportunity in Chicago. Curious if anyone had any insights. Most people I’ve talked to have loved it. But curious if waiting out for a Big 4 opportunity is worth it in the long term?

Recent grad in MM FDD. I talk to the sr associate i'm supposed to be shadowing a couple times a week but he hasn't had that much work for me the past 3 weeks. He has another sr associate shadowing him. I've just been sitting around playing video games and checking my email/messages every 30 minutes. Is this normal for new hires?
