I’m in a similar situation- it’s nice to be in a position where you can be purposeful with your next move! Something I’ve been very careful to do is learn about how the team operates (a great team/manager is make or break) and also to learn a lot about how their leveling system works to avoid a lateral move if possible. I’d also get a lot of information about how waterfall/agile/etc the team actually is and how their partners are to work with. In terms of company culture, Glassdoor has great information and so do forums like this. I’d be sure to read a lot of company feedback, especially from people leaving reviews in the AOR you are looking at.
Ooof I wish I'd seen this before I switched to my current job...definitely keeping this in mind for the next move. Thank you for the insight!
I think a lot can be said for mentorship - especially in the PM field. If you can develop some connections there, it can really open some great doors for you.
Have your resume reviewed and revised by a professional either on LinkedIn or Upwork
