I’m struggling choosing my industry focus in audit. Im deciding between Financial Services (PEG,hedge funds ect.) and manufacturing/consumer products. Both very different.

I find FS to be intriguing but the work boring. I find manufacturing/consumer products to be overwhelming/difficult but a great learning experience! What should I choose? What opportunities are there available for FS focus?

Just curious, in what world would FS be more boring and less difficult than consumer product?

like

Yo it depends what industry you are in. I'm in wealth and asset management and we most work substantively. More hands on but a lot of work so it can be different

Personally, I would choose the manufacturing/consumer products as your focus. FS is not challenging at all; especially if you are in some parts of private equity. That’s not to say all of PE is like that (hedge funds can be interesting).

Generally speaking you get more exposure to complex accounting and better things to put on your resume should you want to switch to another job down the road.

Hello everyone,
I have joined Deloitte in 2021 as a campus recruit. To be honest my experience in Deloitte is not as good and I have been doing nothing for straight 6months now. I am exploring for other opportunities and wanted to know, is the notice period negotiable in Deloitte. If yes, do I have to buy back or depends on the manager. In my offer letter I had the notice period to be 2months, but some people say it is 3 months. Where can I check my notice period.

I am hearing a lot about PMP certification any thoughts or ideas…is it good for ones resume nd if yes what should be roadmap???????

Soo what if I audited the company my brother works for, but didn't realize he worked there until after the audit was already over. For context, for the life of me I could never remember the name of the place he worked, and then my mom said it today and well.... it all clicked.

I used to be a top performer before rona but have been so unmotivated for the last year of WFH and my performance is tanking because of it. I know some people love this life but I absolutely hate it; I chose audit because I enjoy being onsite at clients and thrive on the team camaraderie of audit rooms. WFH was okay at first, but the longer I'm stuck sitting at the same desk in my house alone all day the more meaningless everything feels to me. I don't know what the solution is, but I'm so tired
