Unfortunately this seems to be a common problem in consulting unless you are on a project that values wlb.are you other team members working as much?

Your team members don't seem to be picking their weight if they can't be bothered to learn something. This is an area that definitely needs attention. Next time they say that, try and bring up the fact that it is a new area for you as well and it would be better to distribute the workload. No senior is too high up to pick their share. Or ask them to give guidance on how it should be done. Also I think EY1s advice about offshore should be looked at for sure . Offshore teams are usually very efficient in terms of analysis etc. Ensure you have the most accurate instruction for them for the best output. It sucks but its better to work on the instruction an hour extra than spend 8 hours redoing the work. Learnt it the hard way.

Time to exit - where are you located, OP?

I absolutely despise this advice that is increasingly becoming norm. Attempting to address challenges > running from them

like

Not sure there’s any magical thing to say here beyond having the confidence to just have the conversation. I would speak to the person/people giving you the work and explain to them (without complaining) the challenges. Keep it focused, at least in framing, on what’s best for the team.

like

You got it. Good luck. Identifying things to improve the situation is key. At the end of the day, you want to do what’s best for the team but be confident in the fact that looking out for you YOU is a must

Suggest an off shore team member.

How do you deal with a partner who makes you feel terrible about not just your work but yourself? This is a female partner who is older and a leader in her practice area. She comments on how I speak and it veers into personal criticism. Anything I offer to a project she shuts down, but if her favored paralegal says the same thing, she publicly praises her. I feel like they tag team me and unfortunately I can't completely stop working with them.

I’m on a really difficult project. The other consultants on my team say it’s the most difficult they’ve had in their careers. I’m a new hire and I’m confident that none of my peers have any idea what I’m going through. It’s been really tough. I’m a really strong person but I can’t help but feel unmotivated and defeated. Feeling worn out already.
