Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.
Hi Fishes,
I live in Mumbai. 11th July is my last day and I haven't been to office in the last 5 years. Onsite, working directly at the client site in India and then covid ensured WFH.
Please can someone let me know if it's ok to go to office in jeans and round neck T-shirt. When i was at Airoli I had cases where people were strictly made to come in formals.

Hey OP - I am so sorry to hear this. I think it’s really important to get some support right now. COVID is making it really hard to function normally (not to mention the many confronting events/discussions/learnings around race happening as well). First of all, do you have a friend or trusted family member you could talk to? It’s ok to let them know you are struggling. The Headspace app might be a good option, too.
In terms of your manager, are you comfortable talking to them and letting them know you are not feeling your best? Perhaps frame it in such a way where you acknowledge you’re not performing but are impacted by COVID more than you were expecting. Perhaps ask for a day or two off to reset? If you’re not comfortable with your manager, perhaps there is a buddy or someone else at work you trust that you can confide in and ask what steps they are taking to keep moving forward?
It’s definitely not easy and I know I’ve thrown a lot at you, but I just want to make sure you are ok! Remember these times are far from normal — and slipping in our jobs a little bit is perfectly human! Your manager might be struggling to cope too, but unfortunately taking it out on you (not great managing to do that but it happens). See if you can talk with someone and if that doesn’t feel like an option feel free to DM me and we can come up with a plan together.
Living room dance parties are THE BEST. We don’t talk enough about the healing power of music and dance. I discovered a new song tonight and it’s just made so much in my life bearable because of how beautiful it is. Sending hugs to all and to the OP, we got your back.
It’s a really tough time for everyone. I would get a therapist and maybe consider meds if it’s anxiety/depression. I would talk to your boss and acknowledge you are struggling but that you want to work on it. Having someone yelling at you isn’t helping, maybe a fresh start with a new team would help your productivity. Consider going to HR and asking if you can get moved to a new team. Hang in there! Best of luck!

Thank you! This is such a hard time. I expressed that to my boss but I’m still messing up, I’m so angry and mad at myself, I’ll talk to a therapist and def consider meds, as I think it might help. I agree with a new fresh start. Thank you!
Speak to HR about your boss to find about a plan to switch and find another company. There is no excuse for yelling in the workplace. That’s a form of harassment and nobody should have to work with that. Don’t be in a toxic place that tolerates it.
I went to HR then got a layoff due to covid so they covered their asses from retaliation. Brutal. Leave toxicity immediately if you can- it will break you down.

Hi AAE - don’t let yourself be bullied. It’s unacceptable for anyone to yell...it’s abusive. I would try and document this in an email, and talk to HR.
Hey, DON’T hate yourself. I KNOW that feeling, and it’s not the truth. What’s going on now with COVID, and the collateral damage it’s causing, is enormous, and affects so many people, in so many ways, including one’s self-esteem and self-worth. And it sounds like your boss is just a jerk. The good news is that the light WILL get brighter. May take some time, but “this, too, shall pass.” (It’s biblical and it’s cliche, but it’s also true.) And if you want/need to chat or simply vent, you can DM anytime of the day or night. Hang in there!
💯 agree that yelling is harassment! It’s insane what is allowed in the workplace. No one deserves to be treated like that. Everyone should always be professional.
It’s so true; there are some truly awful people. I’m trying to see alternatives to tech. I can’t take the bullies anymore, among other issues.
Teladoc is amazing. I use it regularly during COVID for all of my mental health needs, which are many
FCB1, is Teledoc just for mental health, or can you see or speak to a GP?

Am still not improving and I feel horrible about it. :(( This on top of everything else is a lot to deal with
Absolutely do not apologize. Explain the context if you must but don’t apologize. Definitely look for employee assistance programs or just know what insurance you have and look up in network doctors on the insurance web site.
Good morning.
So today I pose the dilemma that I’m dealing with presently. For the past year I’ve been employed with the company as a peer specialist. My pay has been minimal being that I didn’t have the experience when I came on board or at least that was what I was told at the time of hiring. However, everyone must begin somewhere and I took a position with the understanding that that would be a review of my pay rate.
However, after being employed in the division of the company that I am for approximately four months maybe five months I realized that I wanted to grow further and work in a different division
(I guess I have to finish here because I accidentally hit the post button and posted the issue before I was finished so bear with me...)
Doing a different job per se. I have my reasons which I will keep to myself at this point the same as I will retain my identity and the positions in which I work. I don’t want any problems.
So I interviewed for a position within the company but as I stated a different division with a Different job title and description in fact the functionality is different altogether. I was interviewed and hired however before I could begin the new position Covid struck! So HR was closed and contracts weren’t being drawn up so therefore my transfer was prolonged. Which is understandable. But when you say prolong in definitely I have reservations with that. I was hired and I’m supposed to be making more money right now. When I asked Now about the transfer they tell me that that department is closed. This is been since late February. I’ve expressed to my directors that I no longer wish to work in the capacity in which I have been hired to and even shared with them the fact that I was interviewing for other positions outside of that division. And my director gave me support which was really nice of my supervisor.
But now here I am hired for a different position that I can’t transition into supposedly because that department is closed at the moment and to complicate matters they ended up moving where I am working presently from my local neighborhood in Brooklyn where I agreed to work all the way to Long Island city Queens. That’s a lot to deal with. I know I should be grateful that I have a job but what happens when you’re doing the job and don’t feel like you’re being appreciated especially not monetarily? And when it comes to work ethics I’ve always signed my position and have exceeded the expectations of the directors have been made mention and noticed at social functions but built bridges that weren’t currently in place prior to my arrival not to toot my own horn but I’m really good at what I do. My directors would say the same. I just feel it really messed up when I’m stuck somewhere I don’t want to be and I’m not even being paid right! Explain to me how I hold a bachelors degree in social and behavioral sciences and make less than a case manager with the high school diploma?👀
