As 13 lpa would reach below 10 in taxable very easily and 16 lpa would be paying 2 lakhs to reach there essentially decreasing from 16 to 14.

I have passed Above Target in the People section, and T in the other sections.
It was 95% situational questions.
Thave used AR's mock exams, and used my wrong answers to figure out my weakness and where I truly stand. I didn't purchase AR's course, just the mock exam simulator.
The 200 agile questions by David McLachlan were amazing, it really helped me in adapting to an agile mindset. TIA simulator n Joseph Phillip is useful.

I switched two years ago from regional real estate/energy to a local small, but established residential real estate practice. Let’s talk about biglaw annual evaluations. EVERY 1st year associate I spoke to said they got stellar evaluations. (I promised I only asked close colleagues and in a non-gunner way). Is it normal for every 1st year to get great evaluations? Do evaluations only become serious/critical as a midlevel?

Just started my first job at a mid size firm. Still awaiting bar results. The firm practices general civil lit - mainly defense (ID, prem liability, labor law, tort defense etc.) but some partners do plaintiff’s work too. So far they’ve had me working mainly on ID cases. I never knew people hate ID so much until I came on this app. Is it really that bad? Pay isn’t great but expecting a bump upon admission. Advice ?

Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?

How to stay motivated or disciplined when you know you want to leave litigation? I plan to go in house in 1-1.5 years. Can't leave yet because I started a new job recently and need this experience. I just have 0 discipline and get so distracted while I work.

Just found out that the real estate attorney we’ve been using - who’s also a friend of my husband - has been disbarred. Quick google search shows that he’s been indicted in a massive fraud case. Crazy to see how far and how quickly someone can fall.

I’ve been a lawyer for a month and a half and every month my firm gives out a detailed income statement. It shows how much it costs to have us and how much we bring in. I’m routinely netting a loss for the firm. I try not to get too down on myself but seeing it every month is starting to get to me. I guess I should reach out to partners to see if I should be worrying about this, but it seems so embarrassing. Anyone experience this in the same stage of career?

Maybe a more seasoned attorney can change my mind, but it really seems like a lot of closings would be more smooth and less stressful if they were in-person.

What's your A/R per month or per quarter? Please list area of law and years of practice. So many posts about billable hours but at the end of the day, isn't it all about the dollar dollar bills y'all?

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that long-arm statutes are terrible for our system. You shouldn't be able to file in the state that you live in. As a policy matter, I feel the default should always be where the defendant lives unless the contract states otherwise.

Do you bill for software processing time? Time it takes to locate and open the proper Word document and exhibits, etc.

Anyone know what happens to a two-party shareholder agreement when a third shareholder enters the picture (by a shareholder transfer diluting the original 2 shareholders)? That shareholder agreement is silent on what happens. Now that there are 3 shareholders is it void?

Currently in ID. A recruiter reached out with a plaintiffs side property/personal injury offer. The pay is $100-200k depending on experience. Since I can’t get anymore details out of the recruiter, and don’t have any knowledge of that side of the aisle l, is there a catch here? I always figured plaintiffs side had a lower base pay but got the real money from settlements.
