I'm super frustrated with my district right now. I have to have surgery in about a month due to a work injury and they are removing me from a room. My coworker had surgery for something else due to a work injury and they did not get moved. They signed something while recovering that they would not do restraints so they could go back to the room and not be on light duty. How is this fair? Both work work injuries

Is it related to the severity of the injury/length of recovery? Or related to how likely it is that someone will need to be restrained in your room and how many/few people are qualified to provide that restraint?

I have not but I am bringing it up to HR after spring break

Welcome to the world of teaching - admin will do what they feel is beneficial for the school…. No hard feelings…. Trust me I can feel your pain since I experienced this myself but I was still teaching and in good terms with everyone ….. no worries God has a plan for all of us… you might not see it in your favor but maybe in the future you will see it might be the best move!!!!! It’s painful and you feel unappreciated but right now it’s best you recover and get rest…. Enjoy your time off…. May God always guide you 🙏🏻

Wow that’s not fair.😞

Where is a great place to find Graphic Designer positions, with solid companies that are willing to compensate at fair market value? I’ve tried Indeed and LinkedIn, but no luck landing even so much as an interview.

I feel like I’ve screwed up any chance for happiness by going into the law. I hate the law firm culture. It’s made me so depressed. But I can’t find time or energy to network or develop skills that could land me a non-law job with decent pay (I have student loans). It seems like the only options for getting out of the law are to become a career coach or a recruiter, which I don’t want to do. Can anyone share a success story to give me hope?

Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm thinking about a boomerang back into public accounting. Spent a year in industry and I miss audit, the variety, the hussle of busy season. Left public after 7 years.

Tell me I'm crazy? Current job isn't as many hours, but we're basically "busy" all year rather than a concentrated season or two.

I was brought in as a sub for my district because they needed subs. The admin had a convo about hiring me for a specific grade next year. About two weeks later, in a staff meeting, the admin announced they hired 2 teachers for the position that was offered to me for next year. After talking privately with the admin, they said they thought I would do better with a different grade and want me for that grade instead.

I don't know what to think? I'm not sure I trust them?
