KC is not only my favorite book, it is a fantastic primer on the journey of maturing from junior creative to senior creative. He starts out arrogant and full of hubris, gets humbled, is kicked around as he learns the ropes, then ultimately gets to the top of his game and has to manage and nurture people that have the qualities and needs of his youthful self. I've read it 20 times and I'm going to read it again now.
Christina Tosi’s episode on the latest season of Chef’s Table is delightful. You should check it out!
Better late than never.
How open people are to food, can give you an insight to how much they'll open their heart.
Sucks that someone as awesome as Tony didn’t find a reason to keep living.
It's a tough world for all of us.
Chef’s table is shot so beautifully, don’t miss season 3’s first episode on the Monk. I love getting high and nerding out on the camera work.
I’m gonna miss that voice 😢
Couldn't agree more OP! Thanks for sharing. I litteraly started reading the book on Monday night and can't put it down. Very entertaining. God listening to him read Chapter 2 on Audible must've been hilarious! How about the kicker that ends Chapter 2 - "And that, dear reader, is when I knew I wanted to be a chef." So good!
I keep watching and rewatching Parts Unknown.
Gonna get the Audible of KC, which I have read many times. Excellent idea, thanks for bringing it up.
Great read, but does anyone else cringe when he refers to them as “snackies”?
I have to admit I started the book because I couldn't stop wondering, why'd he do it? Has anything materialized (other than "depression") as an official "last straw" reason? Such a gifted wordsmith, fiery storyteller and primal, passionate dude! Ladies, can you imagine this man's talents (if you know what I mean, and I think you do).
