When is the best time to ask for a raise?
Parents are helping with our first home purchase and will wire transfer ~30k to our bank account. Will that raise any red flag with IRS?
I need to get a pulse check on my sanity... i live in Michigan, and sports gambling has become legal in the past year. Now every other commercial is about sports gambling, sports announcers are making in game advertisements, I get hit with social media ads, so on and so forth. I’m not against sports gambling, but the constant promotion seems like “corporate America” is taking advantage of addictive human tendencies, and contributing to the perpetuation of wealth inequality in America.. am I nuts
Playing the market for higher TC at other Salesforce consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, Silverline. I’m very close to my C1 promotion here at cap and think it will be announced in the next few weeks. Should I stay or should I go if I get an offer with $200k+ TC? Currently at $120k
Question, if you were starting a new job that gave you the option to choose from OT and a standard raise or a guaranteed bonus that goes up based on performance, which option would you choose? And why
So I’m 3 weeks into a new full time job. Been working like mad—late nights and all Memorial Day weekend. I’m the only senior writer on the team. How do I ask for a raise?
I am so excited for my 2% annual raise!
How do you respond to "What do you want to do?", asked asked by a partner? I joined consulting as part of an acquisition, never really wanted this career. I honestly just want to make money and get promoted for the experience. I've really enjoyed my time at a B4 and have learned a ton but am not partner track. Is it bad to admit I'm not looking to make partner? Will that hurt my promotion to manager chances? Do I need to tell him something more specific than "I want to make manager?"
Do you send a thank you note to people you know were helpful in your case for promotion?
I just started at a new company 2 months ago with the expectation of having 3-4 people on my team. However, my team size will be increasing to 7. I don’t really want to rock the boat so early at my new job especially since I’m still in the “drinking from the firehose” phase, but this is going to be a significant increase in responsibility. We only have pay review in January of each year. Would it be crazy to ask about a raise later this month?
I am a senior ETL developer and I make 130K cad. I want to increase my income. In most companies I see that they pay the same for senior data engineers or data architects. What are the companies or roles should I target in order to raise my income? (PS - I am not interested in non technical or consulting roles)
I scored a 730 on my GMAT in college without too much study. Let’s say that I wanted to try to raise that score. Any tips for efficiently preparing so that I can get to a 760+?
I’m curious what the opinions are on the process they have seen or used to get promoted. I’ve never had it happen in my career this way but in my mind, your work speaks for itself, you advocate for yourself, ask for a promotion when it’s not been offered. Then you get promoted after you make your case if you do qualify. The way I’ve seen it (& a reason I’m leaving my current company) is where they only promote people when they’ve threatened to leave or received a different offer. Thoughts?
I've been working for going on 2.5 years now in adtech on a very well regarded team at a Top 3 media holding group, and have only had 1 raise due to company promotion freezes during covid. While I started this job right out of college, I'm finding myself continually frustrated at my pay....$60k in NYC. Can someone tell me if I'm being crazy or if I should really be hitting the job market, like, yesterday?
Thinking of moving from NY to Austin after bschool (next couple years) to work and raise family. Prefer to stay in consulting or tech industry. Is it a good option?
Do other firms pay UG campus hires more than campus hires from the previous year, even accounting for their raise? Ex: 2019 Campus hire starts at 70k, raise to 75k after year 1; 2020 Campus hire starts at 76k. Or is this just a Deloitte thing?
Just got my annual bonus.. looking to splurge on an espresso machine. Does anyone have any recommendations on specific models, auto vs semi auto? And my budget is $500-$1500

I'm interviewing for a operations associate principal role at via this week and was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on what typical comp looks like? Thanks!
Currently a second-year associate at a regional firm. I have become really unhappy with the life-style at a firm and the constant stress of meeting my billable requirements. It was always my goal to go in-house, but I know I likely lack the requisite experience to make a move somewhere that can offer meaningful advancement. Any advice? I know it will likely be that I need to “stick it out” for a few more years, but I am just extremely dissatisfied with the prospect of being at a firm for years.
What does an Operating Partner at a PE firm make (base/bonus/carry/other benefits)? How hard is it to make that move as a big4 Manager/Senior Manager or is there another way in?
