Im the Director of Social Services at a nursing facility. When I started in January, the company was at 80 patients and this was a lot to manage and now I currently oversee 100 patients and the company goal is 150 patients. I started at $25/hr salary and after my 3 month review, I’m at $27/hr salary. Just in time for my 6 month review, my boss left the company. How can I ask my new boss for my 6 month review and a pay raise? What is a good pay raise to ask for? I was thinking $30/hr?

Ask your HR for a compensation review. Once you have the information, ask your manager to get you to the middle range or higher. Bring 3-4 bullet points why you deserve the raise. If all else fails, find other opportunities.

However, I still needed help planning/prioritizing my day,  listening and active note taking, and keeping myself accountable. So decided to replace meds with coffee. Also, the fact that most people on meds had to progressively increase their medication over time did not sit well with me. (cont'd)

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?
