This red is so close to brown that i personally wouldn't be worried. Im east asian too and i bleached the bottom layer of my hair and have been colouring it (with conditioner) various shades of pink for over a year and none of my coworkers cared. If you're still worried, the bottom layer method may work for you because the overall effect is more subtle - the colour still shows but because you have a top layer of natural/black hair, it partly covers it. And then later on you can always re-dye for full colour
As an auburn haired individual who has on numerous occasions had my stylist amp up my red - it is 100% professional.

My hair is this color but on the warmer side. Turned out great, I got it done professionally.
The thing with reds is you have to use a color conditioner to keep it vibrant
Be careful about purple undertones. As someone with natural red hair I will say this exact color doesn’t exist in nature. Mine is more copper-colored, and others have more orangey hair. Or have strawberry blonde mixed in. It’s pretty though!
If your natural hair color is black, it’s going to be very, very challenging to get to the red in this photo.

The color is professional, and no one will think anything of it - most women color their hair today. But I suggest going to a VERY good colorist, as lightening black to any red will be hard. Red is hard for most colors, but especially with black I think I'd be worried about it turning orange or not being visible. Red also washes out quickly for most people.
May I ask if you’re a WOC? I personally am and tried dying black to red and it turned out looking unprofessional. I have Indian hair so not sure if the hair texture and type has an impact
Okay! You might have better luck. Mine is thick and naturally wavy but I curl/straighten it. I found the black made the red come out too dark and just didn’t look right or natural. I think a hair colourist could you some advice on bleaching and toning it so you have better luck.
I think if you go to a quality salon, they should be able to achieve the right shade of red. However I think the cut and how you plan to style also matters. I think the length in the photo is a few inches too long for “professional”
I had my hair this color for years, you’re fine!
It’s perfectly professional. But it’s going to be a PITA to get & keep it this color. Just warning you. I think what looks unprofessional is unkept hair. So as long as you’re ok with the maintenance, I think it’s fine!!
