KPMG - No
The Big Black Bold D. - No
EY - ehhhh maybe
PwC - Yes! And add me as your referral.
What am I looking for?....Work wise - I want to be in Financial Services all year round. No EBPs. Culture wise - I want the firm to be laid back. Leadership to be easily approachable. Be included in firm activities and events. Smaller firms are too cliquey and people are unable to draw the line between personal and professional. Eventually, they begin to take things personal even when that wasn't your intention. So, I want to avoid that situation.
I meant the team at the new firms
If you want more than just all of us saying our own firms then provide more detail as to what you're looking for as far as type of work, culture values, etc.
I did it, always worth a shot!! If it doesn't work out, you'll still have it on your resume and won't find it difficult to find a new job
Lols referral bonus
That's just life homes....
But it probably isn't as bad as it is in smaller offices.
It all depends on your team and project
My teams are fine - I work with a select few. It's the people I don't work with who are causing issues.
EY is the most laid back in my opinion. Uncle D is the most intense. Look at the size of all B4 offices in your city then start applying. You'll get to know the culture once you start interacting with the professionals
Based on what you're looking for it's really going to depend on what city you're in - within our firm different offices have different culture and client make up. You'll probably have to learn to get over the people conflicts. I moved from smaller firm and I think it's easier to avoid problems with the larger team. Staff complain a lot more at big4 than the smaller firm I was at, just tune it out
EY2- sounds about right
op2, you are exactly right. I made the transition you're looking at and it's been quite a (positive) revelation. I love where I'm at but I understand it's very office to office in terms of culture.
So, PwC says I don't have "enough experience" for their Capital Markets Assurance Senior position. I've been in public accounting for 4 years now. Before that, while in college, I worked as an Internal Audit staff (part-time) for a small company for almost 6 years and was promoted within those 6 years to Senior Internal Audit Associate. So, someone explain to me how I don't have enough experience? ...
I was formerly in your position and moving to Deloitte was the best idea I ever had. I'm under so much less stress now.
