Hi. I am currently on bench with 1 year experience (band 6A). Kind of stressed out now since I am not getting any interview calls. I have also used GOM to apply for roles. I was mostly doing support work in my previous role. What can I do to get into a project other than contacting pem and rsa regularly and doing certifications?? IBM

What do people know about Nom as a company?
Prior to my current company, I was in project management. Then I transitioned into Client Success, which I’ve been in for the last 4 years.
Client Success, in my experience, is a combination of so many facets of a business...sales, account management, project management, operations, etc. I know a number of people who have transitioned from Sales to CS, and it was the best decision they’ve made. Longer term impacts while still using some Sales skills. Happy to talk more about CS if you’re interested.
Great highlights on your experience in CS. How does that compare to account management for current customers?
I don’t want to discourage you but it’s going to be a hard sale to explain that as a side step/moving forward. I would choose sales ops if anything. CSM is probably the hardest to explain.
If you would like to stay customer facing and enjoy change management/adoption within the customer = CS
If you like operations = Sales Ops.
Marketing may be a good transition if you’re already active in field events and already understand the ecosystem (software they use, lead gen campaigns, digital ad space). Otherwise you’ll be starting at entry level. Hope this helps!
I transitioned from sales to CS. Prior to making the jump I reached out to a ton of CSMs in my network to research the role and get their take on what skills are most transferable to CS. After those convos I had a much better narrative to paint for my interviews. Many tech companies nowadays want a more salesy/AM-minded CSM anyway so I was able to play my sales background as a strength. I personally enjoy the long term customer relationship and that I can be more of a product expert as a CSM and haven’t looked back.
