I’m thinking of going back to school to get my FNP, but I’ve only been in the OR ever since I graduated, is it still possible to do so? Again, patient interaction is pretty limited in the OR.

That shouldn't hold you back. The FNP program and certification will help you get broader experience

Thank you!

You can absolutely go into FNP school with limited patient interaction experience. I went through a fast track program that included RN then straight to NP, so i had extremely limited patient interaction experience going into a FNP program. I've been a FNP for 8 years and thriving.

Advice please. Currently work as a nurse at a PCP office, amazing insurance M-F, but manager is TOXIC. Constantly makes fun of employees to other employees calls people idiots (her boss does not care). I have an offer from long term care 7p7a and rotating weekends and holidays. Doesn’t bother me. Does bother my husband. Thoughts?

I have used butterfly needles for phlebotomy since the beginning of my Nursing career. I recently switched jobs and my current employer doesn’t want to buy butterfly needles as they are more expensive than the straight needles. They have asked that we start using the straight needles and even took away the last butterfly needles we had. I feel anxious and uncomfortable doing phlebotomy on everyone with the straight needle.
