I’m traveling again for work and while it took me a while to get back into it, I’m almost as efficient as I was pre-Covid. My issue is that when I get home, I am exhausted. It feels like it takes me a day to recover from any travel that is more than an overnight trip. I know travel disrupts sleep and I eat heavier food when I’m on the road, so I’m watching that, but any other tips to not come home feeling like a shell? Or how to bounce back faster?

I’m so glad to hear you say that because that’s me too! I’m back to my efficient traveller routine and such, but I’m bagged for a day or two afterwards. Last trip I was able to get up early and walk for an hour before first 8:30 meeting (was in a different time zone so that helped). I don’t usually pack workout clothes for a two-three day biz trip, so this was a compromise. Seems to help me a bit. Also I begged off much earlier from the evening events. Am I just getting older?

I’ve noticed this too… honestly I just think it’s social capital that we’re not used to spending. Working from home and video conferencing in we don’t have to be (socially) ON 100% of the time, and that is the exact opposite with business travel. Every action and sentence has at least a little bit of though that needs to go into it. I would say just make sure to find some pockets of time to be alone with your thoughts when you’re on work trips. I’ve also found that work trips can be pretty heavy on the dinners and drinking after hours which can be a significant change from your normal routine. Try to limit drinking on certain nights and don’t stray too much from what you would normally eat at home.

It has been a slow weight loss but I am focusing on making sustainable lifestyle changes that I can keep up. I am so excited and proud!!

At this moment, I am almost depressed. I am in a relationship with this guy for 2 years now. In the past 2 years, we have fought more than we have lived days with peace. We both have high ego problems because of which it’s really hard to resolve a conflict. Things have recently escalated to calling names/swearing and even physically abuse from both sides. We both want to end the relationship, have tried so many times, but we cannot.

Anyone know the difference between a hike and an outdoor walk on an Apple Watch/fitness? I have a loop in my neighborhood I’ll walk that gives me a 800ft elevation gain so in that regard it’s more like a hike, but it’s also on a flat dirt road so that part is more like a walk. I’m guessing hiking is expecting more uneven terrain that requires additional stabilizers/muscle. Thoughts?
