I'm trying to pivot my hospitality career to more of a project management career, can I get any advice as to where to start?

Depends, what exactly is your current role?

Do you have any previous experience in management work yet?

First step would be to start accumulating some experience as an assistant manager so you can learn the ropes and develop your leadership and coordination skills. After enough time in that role you should eventually become qualified for a promotion within or to apply somewhere else for manager

Check out the Google course for project management, it's free and has all the information you might be interested in https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates/google-project-management?trk_ref=articleProductCard

Can you share a little more about your professional background?

A good place to start is to absorb as much information as possible about the path to PM as well as the job responsibilities so you can proceed with intention and direction. I suggest you start here: https://www.investopedia.com/articles/professionals/113015/project-manager-career-path-qualifications.asp

Are there any openings withing your current workplace for Assistant manager, or any other roles that allow you to work directly under the people who have the job you like? Pushing for those positions is a good place to start so you can get personal experience seeing what they do. After that, it's just a matter of observing closely, taking the initiative to take more responsibilities and make a good impression, keep working on your skills outside of work and become a standout employee so you'll be in consideration for a promotion.

Have you done any work in that vein yet? Where are you at in your career? Do you have any training or education that's relevant? Next steps are pretty dependant on that

*Medical Records Requests / Reducing Expenses / HITECH*
I recently left my corporate paralegal role to return to a small personal injury firm. I was shocked to learn that the HITECH fee no longer applies if a client requests their medical records be sent to a third-party (e.g. attorney). Has anyone had any success modifying their HITECH request template for clients so there IS a fee limitation AND the records are sent directly to their attorney? Paying $100+ for hospital records is sickening.

Hi! I requested a raise in late august and am still waiting on confirmation. Last update was 3 weeks ago from my boss who said he put in the request and is still waiting on approval. I can’t help but think they’re just delaying until the new quarter which is the normal raise period. Is a month and a half a long time to be waiting for this? And if it is approved is it reasonable for me to ask for “backdated pay” to when I originally asked?

Our dog walker brought us a gift bag for Christmas with goodies in it. There were some chocolates and other things. I opened one bag up and tried what I thought would be little muffins. They were very dry and lacked flavor. I looked at the packaging closer and saw the paw print on it. So, I guess I just ate a bite of a dog treat. 🥺
