I’m up for the 3rd and final interview. It’s in a social setting -breakfast at a local diner. Suggestions?

Don’t order anything sloppy. 😆

You guys rock! I was a server in a former life so I’m definitely a believer in you get what you give in this life. Since I am a breakfast smoothie person. I’m thinking I gotta do healthy omelette option with tea

Thank you everyone

I was given a verbal offer and later that day a offer letter

You could ask the interviewer for recommendations. It shows you value input from others, and also reduces your stress about making the decision.

The sloppy comment is gold. A breakfast burger might be a bad idea! Go light, you can always go back if the food is amazing 😉

like

Be polite and thoughtful to the wait staff.

I'm going to be prescriptive here. Diners are meant to be decisive places. How you take your coffee is important, what you want is important, whether you make a mess is important, and how long you take to order is important.

Coffee, cream & sugar is the most elaboration you need... cut back what you don't use.

Scrambled eggs or a southwestern omelet are where you want to play - as long as you can finish it and not make a mess.

Lastly, when they ask toast, say can you do an English Muffin but grill it? Slather with orange, apple, or lemon jam (mild and/or citrus). Be content with toast if they don't have English muffins - but if they have breakfast sandwiches they do.

This is like ordering carefully off a menu at a fancy restaurant - demonstrate you understand the menu, the tasks, that you have a specific refined taste and request - and a grilled English Muffin is 100% the greatest thing never listed on a breakfast menu.

That’s sounds like a pro-move, I’d try that exact order with cornbread and butter or coconut oil instead, obviously grilled.

Maybe order what they do? If they picked the place, this place and that dish have an importance to that person. May help subconsciously create similarities between you and the interviewers and show you’re flexible.

like

I second the “don’t order anything sloppy” comment.
Ask what the special is and order that—it shows you’re open to new ideas.
Take small bites so you can answer questions without having your mouth full.
Ask for separate checks and pay for your own meal.

VP insisted to not bring my wallet. Just my “appetite” she is absolutely paying. I don’t want to insult anyone either

Don’t get salad 🥗 it’s terribly messy to eat and always gets stuck in your teeth. I’d honestly just do tea or coffee. If they ball out get pancakes 🥞

like

I’m guessing this round of the interview will be more conversational and, since it’s with the VP, you’re on that home stretch! Congrats on making it this far!! Be confident and be prepared to talk about your experience, especially your leadership experience and accomplishments. Whatever you order will be fine, just go with something that won’t stick in your teeth. 😉

like

Get parfait unless either of you have lactose intolerant.

Don’t add salt/pepper to your food before tasting it first

I'm guessing they want to observe your social skills in person.

Acknowledge the waiter's or waitress' name, ask how they're doing then order. Share personal stories in the beginning and if asked to tell them about you... Don't stick to generic personality descriptions. Share your career history like it's a story starting with last year's in school then any relevant job positions and ambitions.

I am potentially getting an offer from Meta as a product manager, in active interviews now. Any comp gut checks available for an L4 or L5 product manager? They won’t give solid info on comp until the offer, I don’t want to waste my time. Also, any insight into work/life balance in this type of role would also be helpful. My current role is super flexible and I am pretty happy, so it’s about more than comp increase to me.

SalesForce folks, a recruiter reached out for an opportunity to interview for a AE position in my specialty. I noticed there is also an opp available locally for a Strategic Account Manager in my vertical as well.
Any one know of pay difference between the two, responsibilities/expectations, how they are viewed in the org itself?
I understand they are different but in my job today, I handle both roles so can go in either direction.
Appreciate any input.

I'm coming to the end of a contract term and being converted to FTE.

The offer was presented to me by the hiring manager and not HR/Recruiter. To me it is a lower base salary offer than expected, so I asked for info on the total compensation package (base, benefits, bonus, stock/rsu, etc.), which I was told about when they took me on under the contract with the intention to convert.

Hiring manager sends me an email with only standard benefits, no bonus, etc. Are these red flags?
