I’m updating my resume & struggling to find accomplishments for my current job. I feel like all I do is put out fires & react to client “emergencies.” How do I make that sound like an accomplishment?

So sorry to hear this... it sounds like you were busy reacting. Now you know, what is your gameplan? One thing you could say is: you are the one they call when things get rough, at the 11th hour - and you perform your magic. But careful... if this is your speciality, you could end up being in such positions moving forward.

There are plenty of such apps. Monday, airtable, and Hive. But app is just an app without enforcement and a framework. My framework is Kanban. Japanese just in time. You could go for scrum too. Depends on your preference. Some companies take the easy way out and hire a project manager. But that project manager will not be set up for success if they are an external hire. Dictating timelines needs creditability. It is a very political position... so why not do it together? Train people to be fking adults. I have video links to tutorials to show you what this means... drop me a message, I'll connect with you on linked in and send you Lynda courses on this. It is the thinking that has to be enforced team-wide. A framework that forces work to be systematic. Without compliance, it is just another fancy looking app.

Mid-level here. Has anyone gotten their firm to approve their doing work at a deep discount and, if so, what strategies did you use? A potential client approached me directly about a small matter (~20 to 30 hr amicus brief). The potential client (gov’t) pays a standard rate ~40% lower than mine, but I want to take on the project because it would be a good professional opportunity (e.g., high profile case & client) and of course the lower rate won’t affect my comp directly. 🤷‍♀️ All advice welcome!

My spouse is really confused why a promotion causes financial challenge!

Does Chauvin have any personal motive behind the murder? Or even if so, maybe he won’t fess up since this might be viewed as 1st degree? 2. Chauvin had multiple complaints/reports against him. Do they mostly involve African-Americans? 3. Why did the Minneapolis PD not fire Chauvin after his involvement in 3 shootings and numerous complaints?

Need help explaining to sig other (and myself) why I work so much. I feel lk I’ve been exposed now that I wfh and he can see how long the hours are. I make excuses not to hang out cuz I need to get work done. I’m not unhappy, I love this job. Sometimes the hours seem ridiculous and unreasonable but I feel driven and engaged. But am I just spiraling? Is work life balance really that important? Am I just not that into my sig other?
