I’m upset that I’m always behind in the ambitious and lofty goals my managing partner imposes on the case. He wants to try every case we get on the first setting but hasn’t had a full staff in the two years I’ve been here. I’m so tired.

I have seen some business for sale on bizbuysell that have a list price almost half of cash flow. Why would the happen? Are there specific industries where business sell for less than annual cash flow?

Hi!! What’s the best way to research ways in which I may structure a company for tax purposes. Specifically one which is registered within the EU but operates in a third country solely. The EU LTD was established as a way to a) mitigate against the instability within the third country b) ensure funds could be easily transferred from clients due to ever changing restrictions. I’m not really familiar with this area of law but have to sort this out for personal reasons

What’s an expected raise for a second year associate at a mid level firm?

How do so many people bill 12-15 hours a day? I feel like my entire day is filled but barely can hit 7.5 hours

Do I go back to my old firm? 3rd year lit. Been at new firm since start of the year, $130k. Left old firm on good terms, only left because I moved 4 hours to new firm to be with boyfriend (we’re no longer together). I told friends at old firm I wasn’t happy in new city and new firm is much more demanding (1900+ vs. 1750) and several partners are becoming intolerable. Gossip at old firm led to managing partner calling me to offer $110k to return and do the exact work I want to do. Worth it?
