I'm usually very jaded and negative about politics but I'm so glad the government did something about this. As an analyst I had a MRSA infection and was treated at an in-network hospital by an out of network doctor and was slammed with a 2k bill. As of Jan 1 you have protections against this type of billing.

Thank you for being so thoughtful!
Glad to see this! Definitely step in the right direction. I totally feel what you went through— I had a surprise hospital visit/ambulance ride in nyc a couple of years ago and wound up with a several thousand dollar bill. I would’ve turned down the ambulance ride but the emts insisted (it was NOT life or death situation) and the bill for ambulance was ridiculous.
