Look up your local community college and see what classes they offer for adults. I just got a catalogue, and they’re all online now. There’s so many fun options (languages, music, photography, writing, different skills, etc.), for $150 or less. I’m not sure what I want to take yet, but I think it will be a fun thing to do while stuck inside for a few months.

How much do you like your firm and how much does the firm like you? If you want to use this time to add value, do business development stuff like writing articles (internal or external), attending virtual talks and conventions, etc.

Keep in mind i rarely do this with my own downtime, unless I’m actually worried my slow periods will be frowned upon (I’m not, I bill 2200+), but just wanted to offer an alternative to all the other non-work related comments.

Can you go outside alone, or are you limited to a 12X14 cell? If you live in a temperate climate and can go outside, you can do all sorts of things.

Take up woodworking in the yard. Train for distance running. Learn to drive stick or ride a motorcycle. Hike, ski, etc.

If you are limited to your cell, IDK, watch 25 seasons of Dr. Who? Learn to solder electronics?

I am so terrified to know the answer to this question but it has been eating me up inside for about 7 months. A client signed an affidavit and it had a typo in it so I just modified the page with the typo and then submitted to the court. I had no idea that I needed to make the change by hand and have it re-notarized. It happened very earlier in my articling year and I feel sick about it every time I think about it. If I tell someone will my licence get taken away? What should I do?
