I'm wondering if any of us are investing any specific capital on millennials? Aside from my own kids, I just don't see much impact on my biz over the next 10-15 years, and then I'm retired. Thoughts?

I agree with you. I'll take referrals of children or grandchildren from my clients, but I'm not going out of my way to market to the millennials. Unless they're inheriting money, most of that generation haven't had the time to save anything significant. I despise having to explain to a 25 year old why he should fund his Roth IRA this year instead of investing in the next Kickstarter campaign for beard lights (yep, it's a thing). I think if you're looking for your next best client, it not coming from that crowd quite yet. Give them 10 years or so and some of them might become decent clients.

I try to keep an open mind. You know the old saying, each generation says that the next younger generation sucks. Grandparents said that about my parents, my parents said that about me (Gen Xers), and so on. Truth is every generation is different due to the circumstances, life events, and the world you grow up in. That being said, most of the younger people I've come across (under 30 years) don't have any money. They are in debt up to their ears and spend more time on things like social media than doing more productive things. That's just my experience. I can tell you, excluding children of current clients (which I do work with a few), I have exactly one client who is a millennial that I bought in to my book. He was referred to me by my accountant and makes a lot of money. He is very much a millennial when it comes to technology etc. But, he knows zero about investments and lets me handle his accounts without much hassle. Very easy to deal with. But, that's the exception to the rule.I've taken the stance to concentrate on people approaching retirement age. There will always be people turning age 65, where I feel I can provide the most value. So, I'll wait until these guys grow up, pay off debt, and have cash to invest. I don't think that pipeline will ever end, or if it does I'll be hanging up my cleats.

I am a millennial and let me tell you, you are wasting your time on them. The yuppies are all 401k and etrade. The poors are asking you about marijuana stock or TSLA. The middles will buy a new vehicle or go visit Amsterdam and then complain about their student loans. To be fair, some do admire good finance practices, but not enough to actually do anything about it. We'll get there, but not anytime soon.

The impact of millennials is coming. It will be the biggest impact the market has ever seen. It's not about being sexy or risky, it's buying the companies that the two largest generations (boomers and gen y) will be using day in and day out. We are riding this system and outperforming S&P every year the last 5. Looking to add advisors. Package complete with investment management and full package of marketing to get 10-12 booked appointments from seminars where 98% of the time, you just play our video. The investment positioning makes sense to the average person, is simple in nature, and is relatable. Slam dunk talking points and easy to get across. Clients are lining up.

Recently ended a 3+ yr relationship (were both mid 20s and living together for just under 2 years) bc of him buying an engagement ring yet not proposing and waffling about our future. After 2 weeks I brought up that there’s a lot of good in us that maybe worth trying to work on (counseling etc). He wants space first and asked me to not wait for him as he sorts out his emotions and “tries to be happy again” (COVID depression and 100hr work weeks). Then he’ll decide if he wants to try again

I see plenty of people go for a walk during the day, yet I hardly see any of my EY teammates appear “away” for 15/20+ minutes. I recognize that not everyone is in consulting, but can’t imagine that *none* of those walking are. Asking as a relative newcomer to the workforce: Is it acceptable to be away from work for more than just a few minutes, regardless of industry? If so, how can I feel comfortable stepping away to prioritize my health and well-being when so few of my teammates do so?

Advice to directors, senior managers, MDs and partners applying to Google 1. Google is growing slowly. Gcp is growing really fast. Make sure you know where you are applying 2. Sales and sales related roles are growing the fastest. 3. You will not get a team to do your work for you - all the stuff you used to delegate. You will need to do that now. 4. The people that run teams are called managers. They do the following a) scoping work b) staffing c) people mgmt.
