Do we get paid tomorrow or 31?
If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Smile and fake it. And then go and research the topics.

Does this feeling ever go away in public accounting?
I’m in a similar situation. Just ask a lot of questions as you go along. After a season I’m hoping to get the work better
If its something specific to the client....your bosses obviously know you're new on the team, so politely ask them to elaborate. Also spend some tome reviewing the PY file so that you have some background to start from. If its a certain audit area or transaction, its not a bad thing to say that you've not encountered a certain area before and ask for some explanation.

In a professional environment, the partner and manager would take the time to transfer some of their knowledge to you. This may include directing you to some specific areas to review on your own. But you shouldn't have to take notes and go Google a bunch of topics. That's ridiculous.
Unfortunately, this kind of situation can be one where they are trying to burn you out--i.e. bringing you on a bunch of new clients where you can't leverage prior knowledge with a peer manager who is very familiar w/ the clients and is destined to outperform you assuming they continue to withhold knowledge from you.
