That’s so crazy. Sometimes I feel like they’re just there to help get you in the word limit and help with grammar and things. My consultant helped with my story a little but now I’m having second thoughts if my essays are really there. And they really play on the whole “no guarantee” part

I’m happy to take a look and see if you’re on the right track. Was admitted to M7 despite pretty meh stats

It could be helpful to have current students or peers to read your essay to get their perspective and incorporate their feedback into future drafts with your consultant. I totally get your sentiment. Essays are so subjective so there’s never a “right” formula.

like

I’ve read probably 100 essays all from one consultancy and the quality of essay varied wildly even within the same company.

Your essays should be true and authentic to YOU. A good admissions consultant will have taken the time to uncover your stories and help you weave them into a compelling narrative that showcases your conenction to each program to which you are applying. As SA-1 notes, there is no right formula for essays.

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

I received an offer from a quant fund. My offer letter doesn’t explicitly state my role/position, it is nyc based, and that it’s full time. It also doesn’t provide benefits breakdown, just a blanket statement that I’m eligible. I’ve spoken to the recruiter about these items, but general response is that this is standard for the company. To me this is all very strange and I feel it should be defined more. Does this sound normal to others? Can’t tell if i should push on this more or leave it.
