I’m writing an article about hybrid learning, and how it’s being used in L&D strategies. If you have thoughts, can you share/DM? Thank you!!

One exciting thing about hybrid learning, at least for me, is that students are encouraged to spend more time researching independently. Which will prepare them better for the professional world when facing a difficult situation.

This is very true. I just find it hard to stay engaged when I am diong things on my own moerso.

When you say hybrid learning, are you referring to the method/modality of the learning resource (e.g. online vs. in-person), or do you mean a balance between formal instruction and on-the-job training?

Got it. We've only recently introduced online learning (like many organizations) so we're still working out the kinks, but so far it seems like it'll be a huge improvement once we get the hang of it. All the same, we definitely still value having at least some on-site synchronous sessions for connection, though a lot of our younger team members seem to resent having to come in for these.

Looking for a gut check. Our financial advisor says we can afford a home up to $2M. We make good money (>$500K) with no debt or loans. Up to $2M sounds absurd but the city’s COL is very high. I had my PHR back in early 2000, then made a career change to a paramedic (I know, right). I called SHRM and they said I'm eligible to test again even though I only currently have 1.5 yrs of HR.

I purchased the online study guide and it seems that HR has gone in a completely different direction - more operations related than employee relations etc.

Did anyone find this online training to be helpful? I test in July, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks - lauren

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

Is it out of the question to ask if I can be paid for that work under a separate fee as a consultant or something? Is that even possible?

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.
