Uber is on hiring freeze!!@
Doesn't work. It actually backfires. When a potential employer realizes that they spent time on reviewing your resume, possibly setting up interviews with you and then cannot hire you because of your visa status, its disheartening and a time waste. They may put you on blacklist for wasting their time. IMHO, do not do that. Be Honest.

Sponsorship has implications that cant be adjusted for even if the hiring team really wants you after the interviews. There are legal timelines, budgets, etc. Lying about it would waste your own time.
I wouldn’t do it. For some positions, we may not be able to hire people who need visas (may not have the budget to support the legal work involved, for example) so to go through the process of interviewing and then finding out your status is really bad form.
If the person does this, and they have a contact outside of the US it is a instant no.
Sorry, my brain was quicker than my fingers, a contact address.
