Can a person on H1B get unemployment check while looking for job after a lay-off

I have $800 in gift Visa gift cards sitting in a drawer from the past couple of years. Haven’t gotten myself anything fun since Covid started. Not going to invest them in crypto, don’t feel like a trip… what do?

In a predicament folks .. my new employer hired me into a full time role into the US but the immigration team has only done a TN for 10 months due to some administrative mistakes and now the paper work is done. I am working to see how i get this addressed as I cannot even sigh a lease for a 1 year place or lease a car if my status is under 1 year. I am confident they will renew me but it puts me in a jam. Any advice on this? Has anyone seen this?

One of my supervising attorneys all of a sudden is heavily redlining my work by just rephrasing what I originally wrote and adding things I find unnecessary. He didn’t use to redline my work this much and everything ends up being overly dense and wordy.
