Interesting data, but they didn’t foot note their sources. I find it hard to compare/qualifier the date points.
Yah I wish they had sources listed.
I’m not sure I fully understood the article but I don’t know if it paints the whole story.
People underestimate how much diet impacts our hormones which then affect our reproductive systems. South Asians tend to follow carb heavy diets and therefore thanks to genetics, SAs are often prone to diabetes & blood pressure. I’ve observed it at least in my extended family
Before people come @ me though, I’m South Asian. I grew up vegetarian and ate lotsa carbs (I still love carbs). I had irregular cycles, was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22, early onset puberty (at the age of 9), and at one point was borderline diabetic. Now that my health is in check, doc discovered fibroids in my uterus. Have heard that this is also genetic.
Addition: the diet may not have been as big of an issue hundreds of years ago because women were having babies earlier, exposure to toxins were minimal (copper and steel cookware, natural cleaning products, etc). I think my ancestors were also more active than the recent generations because they had to be
PPS I’ve read some other stuff by juggernaut and follow them on Instagram. Interesting content but they sometimes take a very divisive stance!
Hmmm... interesting, albeit very disconcerting. Although practiced less frequently, I wonder if historical consanguineous relationships (i.e. cousin marriage) has something to do with high rate of IVF failure. Or perhaps something about the process itself or exposure to environmental toxins that could harm reproductive health in both males and females. The rates are quite shocking😟
