I hate turning down any kind of request even when I'm up to my eyeballs with work. How do you all politely and effectively turn down tasks?
I frequently stay in hotels during the week because of my job. I'm starting to get tired of my usual oatmeal/protein shake breakfast and normal packed lunch of chicken, veggies, yogurt, and fruit combo. Any ideas of something to shake things up that are "healthy" and not reliant on eating out/ expensive?
How much would you renegotiate your current salary to if you picked up a new HR Cert? (PHR, SPHR, SHRM, IHRM, etc)

Has anyone transitioned from M&A to Real Estate? Feeling pretty burned out on M&A and wanting to try something different, but have limited RE experience. I’m only a 2nd year associate, so I’m hoping I’m still early enough in my career to make a change.
I’m a POC & I hate to admit it, but - at the start of my search for executive roles, I was “reverse interviewed”.
In other words, I was likely invited into the process only to check some sort of box, because the recruiter seemed to know that they weren’t going to hire me.
I had not encountered this in such a blatant & personalized way earlier in my career journey, so I was wholly unprepared.
It startled me. I felt gross & ashamed about it each time it happened.

Planning for a job change as my current organization is not having much scope.

I have given a few interviews and haven't cleared it so I'm feeling very low at this point of time.
Any help would be appreciated
Is there a way to calculate the sum to $150. Sum if doesn’t work assuming Col A is only counted in 1 cell. Prefer not to change the layout of column A-C. . Thanks
If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing in consulting/ your job, what would it be?
I know a lot of us are going through a hard time in our personal lives with divorces, separations, break ups, and other family issues. I saw this today and it gave me a bit of solace. I hope it gives you some, too. This too shall pass!
What are some strategies for closing offers when a candidate has multiples offers? What are you selling them on aside from company benefits/perks?
Hi is it good to say that I already have an offer letter of one company(X) to another company(Y) to get better offer, I just got scolded by HR for this. also I lost the opportunity in Y.
HR scolded me regarding trust issues, time taken to interview a candidate, you will go and come back again to negotiate and what not, all I wanted to was just to improve my current offer.
Is it ethically wrong, or we should never share what offer we have to anyone.
I feel sad that I just lost an opportunity
My husband is an alcoholic and it’s getting worse with the holidays. He’s started every day drinking high alcohol-content IPAs as early as 8am. And he drinks them all day and all night like soda. He did AA when he was younger but is now vehemently against it. He is high-functioning. Has a PhD from MIT and works for a venture capitalist firm. I wondered how he gets through the day, but he started to come home early (mid-afternoon) and immediately open a beer while working. What should I do?
Got an offer to join EY Consulting->Digital and Emerging Practice as a Tech Consulting Manager(M2) for Philadelphia office recently . I have below queries ,would appreciate if I can have some feedback:

What are three words you've always wanted to put in your copy but, for whatever reason, can't? Mine: callipygian, hent and flatus.
When the level of editing/rewriting you get is directly related to your boss’s stress level... Enjoy!
I’m a copywriter and I’m shite at writing cover letters, which makes me feel like a fraud. Any other writers feel this way? Any advice?
Looking to expand my portfolio - would personal writing/poetry be appropriate? Not ads, white papers etc. I have those, but they’re all for B2B and I want to show off a different skill set. Thoughts?
I just want to put something positive out today. I had a freelance gig come my way and I threw (what I thought) was an insane $ at them and they said yes 😭. Bless up. Haha I’m so pumped
Here’s a tip: if you’re stuck on any idea/job/whatever, write headlines. Even if the job doesn’t call for them, write headlines. Makes insights come quicker and ideas flow like water.
Write more headlines.
A CW posted a while back asking if there were sites to find freelance or pro bono work on the side to help build some good, creative work for their book. I can’t find it. What were those sites?? Thx
How do you know when you’re good?
I’m interviewing for the first time EVER (a CD friend hired me years ago when I was an executive assistant and writing my own stuff on the side, and I quickly learned the ropes).
What do you highlight about your work when asked “tell me about yourself?” And if you’re in the position to hire, what do you want to hear?
I presented multiple ideas that I thought was a game changer and it keeps getting rejected. All these generic traditional ideas are being chosen and it sucks.. I want to make a difference in the advertising industry but I wonder, do you guys eventually accept how things are and stop suggesting ideas out the norm.
By industry standards, how long before a junior creative can ask for a promotion? (provided they've done the work to back it up, ofcourse)
How do I become a bounty hunter?
Would you continue to interview for a role after the hiring manager tells you the salary cap and it’s below what you’d accept? Is there usually still room room to negotiate later on?
I'm looking for a mid/sr level cw in NYC to look for a team gigs together. Email me to firstname.lastname@example.org
“Can you make this social copy sound more conversational?” The brand TOV is smart, but approachable. Tips on striking the balance between the two? It’s always an art director ACD giving this feedback, and they can’t explain what they’re looking for.
