In a few weeks I’m transitioning from a client-facing consulting role to an internal role that’s not client facing. Looking forward to the WLB but a bit anxious about the pivot out of client work (will it be too slow paced, will I get bored, etc). Anyone have tips on being successful in this transition out of client work?

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t stoop to your peers’ level. I went the opposite route IFS>Advisory. You’ll be able to be a top performer no problem. Do 1.5-2x the amount of work in the same amount of time and still be home by 5/5:30 and no calls or “I’ll be back on later”

Hey 🐠, I’m trying to understand if I need to be looking for lateral exit opportunities from a compensation perspective. I’m a Manager in the M&A IT practice, 12 YOE (7 in Tech and 5 in Consulting). I am happy with the work I do and the people I work with are tolerable. New base salary is $178K starting this month. Asking because I’ve heard that people should keep jumping from one company to another in Consulting to have a competitive comp. Basically guys, is my compensation competitive?

Has anyone transitioned into product management? I would love to hear your story! I have 8 years experience in project management but I don’t know how to pivot. I don’t think I want to pivot internally because I’ve heard negative things about our product management teams. I’ve been thinking about moving into project management at a SaaS company but that is proving to be hard since I have no SaaS experience. Would love to hear anyone experience on moving into product management.

Are delivery/POs really consultants? And is being a PO the right path to product manager, if I wanted to go to tech?
