You should ask for whatever the current market rate is in your area (at minimum) for your amount of experience. Usually if an employer does not offer any benefits at all, they should be paying above market rate to compensate for that. I have full benefits that amounts to about $10k (single person benefits, no family) a year in austin. Take your market rate + ~10k and ask for that.
Agreed!! Look at the loving wage for your city, look at the average salary for paralegals in your state/ city, and then add a couple thousand bc you have experience! Tbh I dont live in Texas but sounds like 45k is too low for someone with your experience
I would definitely ask for an increase, but not expect for it to go into effect until you return from maternity leave. That is super nice that she is paying for your leave!
