I see some of my peers leaving tech consulting in PwC to accept a position as a product manager in tech companies like amazon, google, Salesforce, qualtrics, doordash, etc? How is the transition like? Or how TC in a B4 compares to PM in a big tech company?
Congrats to all the folks who got promoted this year! Happy for everyone but still feeling a little blue.. was really hoping to make it to the next level this year. Looking for some advice.. do I slog it out for one more year in current big 4 or do I try to jump to another firm at the next level?

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
Do B4 have any short-term training/working programs that's easy to get in so i can join and gain experience to get a job at B4 later?
Can staff or seniors refer interns in big 4, or are interns only really hired through campus recruiting?
It’s pretty wild how much Big 4 demonizes people who leave. Even worse if you’re looking to jump to a competitor. It’s never that serious
Is 2 Weeks notice mandatory? I'm in California and on H1b if it makes any difference. Can I give 1 week notice?
A couple days ago was emailed by my SM who cc: another SM and our MD on the account. They were thanking me for all the hard work I’ve been doing. Our MD said it was great to see a new team member playing such an important role. I replied bla bla. They then talked about how they world set up time to talk about my future on the project. What do you do when your SO is so naive that she tells her employer during a promotion interview that her long term plan is a career in academia.
If your own kids go to school in your district, do you struggle with the different hats that you wear? I’ve done well with the academic side of things (coworker/parent), but she is getting older and the dynamic is changing. I teach at a fairly large high school. She is now in sports and coach is a coworker. And now I have some of her friends and teammates in class. Friends/students coming over will get awkward. Don’t know what I am going to do when she starts dating…
Anyone already work out an optimal combo for a couple that each consults on earning? We aren’t super advanced so basic choice is either both go Marriott, or split and one go Hyatt and Hilton
I interned and started my career all within the confines of quarantine. Any tips for standing out when all you’ve known is remote work?
Exec platinum: chances of being upgraded on flight from DFW to London on a Friday afternoon
We are closer to the end of this initial selling than the beginning. All this technical selling on a 15 minute chart simply brings us back to a 4 Hour Halfway Back long of May 20 to Highs. And, we find support right in the middle of this HWB long. I think we can go a little lower to break the long in a dip below the 61.8% red line. Alternatively, we can hold here and rally. Either way, tomorrow or next week, we are due to rally 300 Nasdaq points. Take profits and be smart.
I interviewed with an ECD mid-last week and immediately after got some bad news that completely derailed the rest of my week. Because of that, I never even thought about sending a thank you email, but I’m now realizing that probably looks bad. Any tips on how to deal with this?
