Rasika for Indian food, Keren’s for Ethiopian!

Also, order the Kamini. Tequila and rum based cocktail I believe, infused with garam masala and topped with a cucumber.

I was very fond of the whole food truck thing they have going on in DC. There's even an app to track where they are.

Ambar Capitol Hill is the BOMB. It’s all you can eat/drink tapas style for $50. I recommend it to everyone I know who has gone to DC and multiple people have told me it was the highlight of their trip

It’s closing/closed for renovations. There is one in Clarendon though

Bad Saint—on Bon Apetits best new restaurants in the country. Completely changing the national food scene on Filipino cuisine

like

Le Diplomate, off the record, Joes, The Hamilton, Old Ebbitt. Check out some breweries. Hishorn and Renwick are both cool as is Artech House (probably misspelling it). Walk the monuments.

Highly recommend Maydan!

Tail Up Goat is the best restaurant in DC. It has a Michelin star but isn’t expensive, the staff is really friendly, and the food is great. Win, win, win

Rebellion or imperial great bars in admo for Saturday, casual. Jack rose great rooftop. Better rooftop is players club Timber pizza great casual dinner. Destination wedding - secret bar is cool. Capo deli secret club also cool. Flash edm club also cool. Red hen great pasta date spot. It’ll be cold so maybe go do a museum

Check out Chiko if you can get the tasting menu. $50 and more food than you can eat.

A few that aren’t always at the top of people’s recommendation lists but I quite like:
Nobu, sababa, bindaas, himitsu, mission, iron gate, Fiola mare, sequoia, chez billy sud, rasika, there was an African place in Shaw that I can’t remember the name of.

Chez billy sud was great

like

Estuary, Kinship and Blue Duck are my favs

It’s restaurant week so make a nice dinner reservation!!!! Although it might be hard to get one now

Any Jose Andres restaurant. Jaleo and Zaytinya are favorites! Agree with above on Rasika and Le Dip, by the way!

If you are a foreigner, you can go inside the actual Senate and House of representatives really easily and see a session live. Little complicated for US citizens as they need to get a pass from their state's rep or senator.

I don’t think you actually need a pass from your delegation. The tours from the redcoats/official tours have scheduled hours

A tour from your delegation is actually a perk because it’ll be longer and include an office visit. The tour guide will be an intern that will only remember a 1/3 that the professional guides told them on their first day though and will make up the rest as they go.

Recruiters would seriously say anything. I was just told an AM50 firm would be fine with having me sit in the office in my city and work remotely if I don’t want to commute. I just did a simple Google search and that firm does not even have an office location anywhere near my city lol.
