Hello fishes,

Thanks in Advance
Hi All, I recently interviewed at Amazon and Google for software engineer and passed both interviews. I have an offer on the table from Amazon but with Google I am officially in team matching and my recruiter tells me that the queue is pretty backed up now and it can take a long time. My question is should I take the Amazon offer now or decline Amazon and hold out for Google? I have heard that Google has better wlb/benefits. But I'm scared to decline Amazon without a guaranteed job offer.

A single-minded passion for strategy. We don't want dabblers. The best planners love the craft and wouldn't do anything else.
@svp/creative 1 I couldn’t disagree more. A good strategist is anything but single-minded.
Being single minded is definitely key, but beyond that what is your unique perspective on strategy? What is your thing, your passion, or your special passion you bring to strategy? That’s what I look for when hiring, just passion and a perspective.
For me, it comes down to figuring out “Why.” Why does a person act in a particular fashion? Why can a brand be the best solve for a shopper? What is it about a retailer that makes it the best place for someone to shop?
While that may all sound simple, when we figure out how the “why” is rooted in a human behavior or story, we get to the best work.
