Thinking about adding my child as an additional cardholder on Amex or other credit cards to build up their credit. I don't know if they're ready to actually have the card in their possession, but idea would be to establish early credit history.
Does it work? Is the purpose really to "build their habits" as Amex website suggests, or do they actually benefit from a longer credit history & piggyback off my good credit? First-gen professional here, so appreciate advice & resources.
A child that kicked ,punched and spit at staff and students. He wanted was to go to the principals office. In the principals office he played with Legos, cars and toys. Rewards for bad behavior.
Hi Team, I will be having my panel presentation next week. Any tips? Also the position is for Salesforce.org. Is there much difference and pros/cos you can share? (Eg. lower salary, different benefits, culture….)
Feeling like a horrible father today. I always make sure that I’m loving and happy and excited when I’m with my son, mainly bc my father was an emotionally unavailable narcissist. But yesterday I lost my temper trying to get his movie going on his kindle tablet in the car and ended up smashing it to pieces.

Aside from all the usual benefits like paid vacation time, health insurance, 401k matching program, have you ever seen a truly unique business perk?
Talk to me about going from 2 to 3. I feel like 3 kids is such a rarity in this industry that it’s daunting to make the leap. I don’t know a single person in my office with 3 kids. I worry 3 is going take our lives from semi-manageable chaos to complete anarchy. But… I think we want a 3rd. My kids are young (toddler and baby), and if we do go ahead we’d want to do it in the next year or so.
Something I used to do with my father before he died was fixing his home garden. Thanks to that now whenever I get a new property to sell I dedicate myself to fixing the garden before showing it, I learned to do it very fast and very aesthetically. Have you ever fixed houses by yourself to improve sales?
So he is still alive? That was a waste of a suspenseful teaser. And obviously someone was a big baby toda fan.
Anyone have any tips for getting past the "new consultant" anxiety? Everything from how I look to the team to my first month's utilization rate has me staying up at night...
Debating on whether or not I should get myself a financial advisor. I’m in my early 30’s, about to take a 30% jump in pay, and want to make up for lost time when I wasn’t able to save as much as I wanted and start investing. But I’m clueless! I plan to contribute more to my 401k/rIRA but also want to invest for some short and long term goals like buying a vacation home in 8-10 years and future children’s college funds.
Would an advisor be worth the cost?

When requesting a raise, has an employer ever asked you for the cost of living? As an example- asking you to list out a future mortgage payment if you purchase a home, the cost of health insurance for your family, etc. Seems intrusive and weird. Raises should based on value, not what a mortgage costs…. but maybe it’s common.
New to a publicly traded company and slightly embarrassed that I don’t know more on this- but if my company offers sell-to-cover, is that something I should do? What benefits me more?

My mother (60 years old) needs to travel to SFO from NY. Wanted to get some thoughts from folks who have travelled recently in terms of which is the best airline from social distancing and cleanliness standpoint. Delta has blocked middle seat but flies from JFK (internal traffic concern) vs United which flies from smaller EWR but no social distancing.

So after months of internal networking, I was finally able to secure a cloud computing (AWS) role within my company. I have CCP and SA(assc) and I am currently working towards my SA(pro). After about a year of working experience, I plan on testing the job market (I am seriously underpaid right now 😞). …Anyone in the group care to make any recommendations on what I should focus on in preparing for the future? Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi all, new Chicago transplant - wanted to get some opinions. What were your first years in the city like? Do you regret moving here? Are you planning to move out or do you see yourself staying long term?
Need an opinion. I just finished week 2. I do an hour after school club at my district once a week on zoom and none of my own schools students participate. I received a very nasty and aggressive email from a parent making threats and hyperbolic accusations so I forwarded the email to the personnel at the district. They were supportive but is still willing to “work together to assist her”. I thought I was pretty vocal that I did not appreciate the way she addressed me and don’t take lightly to

Just wanted to share a small win. After 2 months of complete bottle refusal at daycare, my 6 month old has FINALLY accepted it as a way of eating while he’s there. The anxiety, mom guilt, and worry I felt every single day he was there as they squirted milk in his mouth while he cried almost lead me to quit my job so I could keep him home. I’m so so so grateful and feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I could cry from relief!

Hello! Also GPS HC and due end of August 😊 the leave team is your friend! They can answer specific questions, but your utilization will freeze when you start your leave, and you have to submit an leave request form that basically plots out how much time you’re taking, how much of it is STD vs family leave etc. you can submit it today if you want, really anytime. Have you looked through the FAQs for Family Leave?
You won’t have access to DTE during leave; your time will be recorded by the leave team. As long as you are on leave, your utilization is frozen
