In house interviews:
I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!

This happened to me and then the business team wanted to meet with me after the legal team. I was concerned, but it all worked out.

This happened to me and eventually I got the job. Totally get that they would want to at least compare candidates but also understand how frustrating it is for you.

1/10 2nd round interview on 1/24 they emailed saying MLK threw off their regular meetings. When do I follow up again? Small, busy company (no structured HR).

What’s the general timeframe for banks/financial institutions interview process? I find that the process is much longer and tends to drag on. Are there set seasons when these companies will hire in general?

Hi..
I Appeared for an interview for RPA - Automation Anywhere. I didn't got any response after the interview. Then when I reached hiring manager through LinkedIn I got to know I cleared all the rounds but my expected cts is high so they might have rejected. First thing is I never said what I am expecting . And I clearly told In managerial round that I am open for salary discussion.

But no one responded. Will I get the call back in time? Or I just leave it and go ahead with other companies?

I have been offered a L10 position in Accenture, for the designation of Senior Analyst Application Developer, and I was interviewed in Machine Learning and AWS, will I be tagged in same domain or they might ask to work on any of their projects?
The JD wasn't shared though!

There is this big bank where I'd love to work at, and after several interviews for various positions they end up promoting someone from within, even thou I understand it and think it’s good they promote their people, it left me feeling like I'm just being used to comply with the process.

Is it okay to be upfront with the person interviewing me that I’m just not a good interviewer?! I haven’t had an interview in a very long time. Been with the same company for a while now. I’m nervous and I know I’m not good at interviews but I’m a good and hard worker. How do I go about this?

Additional Posts in In-House Counsel

How soon is too soon to switch jobs? I went in-house a year ago, after five years as a MidLaw litigator. I always aim to stay at a job for at least two years, and not to move until it’s necessary; I also wanted to stay in this job for awhile as I’m still learning how to be in-house and have lots to grow. But the culture is poor and pay is average. Does it look bad to leave after 1/1.5 years? Is the stink of such a departure significantly lessened at the two year mark? Thanks in advance!
