You need to be making at least 300k with a 40% bonus. Way underpaid
SM at ACN, 4 years post MBA, $230K base+$50K bonus. Working about 30hrs/wk with some bench/training time here and there (maybe 40hrs if you count golfing/hunting with clients). Go back to your SF shoe box... I'll sit here in my TX mcmansion with zero mortgage because I invested all my money in FAANG five years ago 👊🎤🖐
(how? Sold 10M project, now I just show my face here and there to make sure everything is OK and the client is happy... cooking few deals low and slow, so not worried about next year).
Hell ya on selling the $10M project
You know exactly how this compares to consulting. You just wanted to flex that you’re achieving that pay only working 40hrs/week.
Chief
Agreed, all of consulting comp pretty publicly shared, this just comes off as bragging
It’s about same as a MBB 3 yr post mba and a Big 4 5 yr post MBA comp. But it’s in the Bay Area, anything less than $350 is nothing to get excited about.
320 is more like it.
Pretty sure that’s minimum wage for the Bay Area.
Great package at any other location

Why the need of comparison OP? Are you happy with where you are in life? If yes, you shouldn’t have to seek validation.
This is low compare to my former firm. A VP technically only working about 15hours/week making 200k base + 30% bonus in Boston.
Why is comparing industry director to consulting then? And why can’t I compare VP to director? Vp in one company may be the same as director in another.
Well to me the key is years of experience. If OP is 26 then the comp is great / on par with top consulting salaries. If OP is 35 then that comp is way behind top consulting salaries.
How many years out of MBA?
What company???? Are you hiring? Plzsaveme
It’s about high end of senior associate level at any big4 strategy firm.
Yeah. no. Let’s not get carried away.
Very low try harder op
Nobody is worried...
For Director in SF it does seem a bit low. But only because it’s in the SF area and $175 seems like it could be the base for a level below you (all assumptions since you didn’t disclose more about the industry, experience or levels).
But for a great W/L balance, and what seems to be a very equitable pay and bonus structure I’d say you’re doing great.
I think you know how it compares to consulting generally. You’re probably in the median of overall comp for most firms, not the biggest or better paid. But you’re certainly not grossly underpaid if considering your all in comp.
How many years of experience?
You’re a director in industry? How many years post mba?
About what I got at EY, bonus was a bit smaller but salary was higher
How many years experience? Could compare to SC -M level salary
LOL.
You’re dope
This doesn’t seem like much in SF
