McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hello, I received an offer as a Senior Practice Manager at Bain. The profit sharing range is 0-12% in the offer letter. Is it typical to receive the midpoint (6%)? Also, what do the annual salary increases typically look like? Any insights are much appreciated. Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

Do I actually hate my job, or is it the pandemic?

New job for sure. You might like the new team once you get to know them. If not, a couple years from now look for another job with much better starting salary
Depends whether loving the product surpasses promotion. If it were me, I’d exit and come back if it isn’t a great team/company fit

I’d take the great team. What are your plans with the more money? Are currently struggling to make ends meet? Is the $30k worth hating going to work everyday? Generally speaking, you’ll be more productive and accomplish more with a great team which will lead to even better exit opportunities in the future.
Take the promo and new experience. Teams, whether good or bad, are never permanent. I’ve learned to appreciate great team mates when I have them, but know it will not last forever for a multitude of reasons. I wouldn’t pass up on a new opportunity, even if just for the sake of going along with the momentum.
Obviously the promo and salary are great. But my current team and manager are amazing to me. Would appreciate advice or personal experience!
That’s tough but it depends I’d rather make less and love the team than make more and hate the team but it seems like you can’t tell that about the new place just yet. You could always leave the door open to come back if you end up hating it and come back for no leas than your new salary
Exactly can’t tell yet
Promo
Hard to get a feel for the new team based on where you’re at with them at this point. Who knows, you may end up liking them even more. But I do know they like you enough to offer you a promo opportunity and increase your income. You work to make money and advance your career, if you make friends along the way that’s a bonus. From someone who’s been there before, I’ll all but guarantee you, the people you have this “amazing” relationship will all but vanish when you leave (just my guess)
What’s growth opportunity?
Both great growth ops. But the exit op would offer a promotion

Thanks 🐠, very helpful 🙏
Leverage the offer for a raise and maybe a promotion with the team you love
