Maybe it’s a little lower stress knowing you don’t truly need the job but barista FIRE doesn’t sound particularly low stress to me. Retail and food service jobs are basically treated poorly by the company and the customer.

My mom went to TJ's after she semi-retired from education administration. She got great benefits, and loved talking to people! But, she had a hard time waking up in the early mornings and doing inventory/unloading.

Then with COVID, she decided it wasn't worth it to be in a grocery job (She's also late 60's). But, the culture and the support and the people were amazing - definitely recommend it if you are an extrovert who likes to see people daily and work in a fast-paced environment.

My list of jobs - staff at concert venue or stadium, campground host, dog walker/ pet sitter

like

No benefits, but I see many people do independent consulting / expert calls / interview prep on an hourly basis for extra cash

like

Dog walker or scuba dive master. Probably dogs because can’t be asked to deal with people after years of babysitting borrowers…

Also curious especially the ones that offer medical/dental

Id become a dog walker, or learn wood working

I am super interested!

I got my PhD at a young age but think will it be Batista fire to get another phd or do a postdoc?

Anyone have a referral for a retail field trainer? We are a luxury, Seattle based brand. Location is remote with about 50% travel. Preferably located in the LA market. Salary range is $90-$100k plus bonus and competitive benefits.

our company is expanding domestically in about 15 states in the US as well as internationally in EMEA and APAC. our biggest struggles right now are with all the different employment laws/compliance items + comp & benefits + what differs locally vs aligns globally. we are working with a PEO but still need support and expertise internally. what's the best way to structure the HR team in order to support this type of growth & expansion, especially in a short amount of time?

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?

Hi Fishes,

I’m here to seek some guidance over a doubt of mine. I am joining a new company and they wants me to join on 21st November . But I have a notice period of 30 days which I’m supposed to serve in my current company.

I’m looking for some tips and ways to negotiate with the new company for granting me a new joining date or to buy me out of notice period and thereafter join in for the new job

Desperate parent of an almost 4 year old here.

Our toddler isn't quite done with potty training. He knows to run to the potty to pee, but poops are almost always an accident. We are working with a pediatric GI to resolve chronic constipation issues + rewards for timely pooping.

My son's daycare is just being a pain and constantly sending emails reminding us how tough it is on the teachers / staff, despite us telling them how much we're trying.

Any parents who can relate or offer guidance?

For the parent 🐟s

Please clarify for me. I say if the salary for the position is $52,000, that's what you include when posting the job opening. Ie: Marketing Assistant: $52K. My supervisor says no, the salary is actually 74,000, because she's including health benefits and PTO on top of the 52.. I said if you post 74,000 and the person finds out it's actually 52 (probably with a take home pay of only 38) they will walk. Who's right?
