Need your opinions. Wife is currently 14 weeks pregnant and I’m expecting a job offer in the next week or so. Do I sign and accept an offer and then tell them about needing to take paternity leave once I begin or do I discuss this before I accept? Not wanting to start off on the wrong foot but don’t want to risk any potential offer

Anyone have a referral for a retail field trainer? We are a luxury, Seattle based brand. Location is remote with about 50% travel. Preferably located in the LA market. Salary range is $90-$100k plus bonus and competitive benefits.
our company is expanding domestically in about 15 states in the US as well as internationally in EMEA and APAC. our biggest struggles right now are with all the different employment laws/compliance items + comp & benefits + what differs locally vs aligns globally. we are working with a PEO but still need support and expertise internally. what's the best way to structure the HR team in order to support this type of growth & expansion, especially in a short amount of time?
What are some hidden benefits at the firm?
Can anyone here comment on their experiences interviewing/ working with Boston Healthcare Associates?
Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?
What’s a good way to get buy in from non-sustainability oriented clients into the benefits of spending into more sustainable practices (they are always penny pinching so it’s borderline e impossible).

I’m here to seek some guidance over a doubt of mine. I am joining a new company and they wants me to join on 21st November . But I have a notice period of 30 days which I’m supposed to serve in my current company.
I’m looking for some tips and ways to negotiate with the new company for granting me a new joining date or to buy me out of notice period and thereafter join in for the new job
Desperate parent of an almost 4 year old here.
Our toddler isn't quite done with potty training. He knows to run to the potty to pee, but poops are almost always an accident. We are working with a pediatric GI to resolve chronic constipation issues + rewards for timely pooping.
My son's daycare is just being a pain and constantly sending emails reminding us how tough it is on the teachers / staff, despite us telling them how much we're trying.
Any parents who can relate or offer guidance?

Doing a remote interview tomorrow for an in-house position that I really want. Invite says "[company] is a startup, so a full suit is not necessary! Business casual attire is recommended." Like I said, I really want this job, and the idea of not wearing a suit is just weird to me
Should I still wear the suit or would it be counter productive?
I’m in a committed relationship and have realized I developed an elementary school level crush on a coworker. How do I kill the crush and maintain the friendship?

What happens when you don’t receive any decision before October 1st from USCIS? My H1 is selected in the lottery but there has been no response at all after it. I am on valid F1 btw
I have not shown my first company's experience in resume as I don't have experience or relieving letter. Will it affect my background verification. As I have provided the UAN no. and other details on Infosys launchpad.
Please clarify for me. I say if the salary for the position is $52,000, that's what you include when posting the job opening. Ie: Marketing Assistant: $52K. My supervisor says no, the salary is actually 74,000, because she's including health benefits and PTO on top of the 52.. I said if you post 74,000 and the person finds out it's actually 52 (probably with a take home pay of only 38) they will walk. Who's right?
Anyone have tips on actually “stopping the grind”? I’m in my second trimester of a high risk pregnancy and on busy clients until I’m due. (Senior Associate). Told my mgr and HR that I am expecting, but am still having to work until 2 am. Not getting enough sleep isn’t good my doctor said. How do I communicate this with my mgr? If I don’t stay up until al hours of the night, I won’t be able to get all my allocation done.. I’m stuck.
Any of you girls/ladies who need a hug/positivity dose/anything. Loads of good vibes your way. I recognize so many of us need strong shoulders to lean in rn. Stay strong and beautiful.💕

Received a buyout offer but thinking of turning it down to recruit for more growth oriented roles as that’s where my real interests lie. Any thoughts on starting a career in buyout vs. directly in growth?

I want to save more and so many people suggest stop eating out and cook at home. I hate cooking especially the clean up afterwards, but I usually cook 4-5 days a week. We are a family of 5 so by the weekend I am done cooking and just want to relax. My ask is how to enjoy cooking at home andwhat else can I do to save other than not eat out?
Newbie question here. From what I’ve read and learned people typically take two FIRE approaches: 1. REI and 2. Index funds. First, am I missing anything else? Second, if you did the index fund version, and you retire at say 30-35, how do you use that money? Isn’t it locked in until 59 1/2?
Have you all looked at 529 plans vs other investment accounts for kids? I'm a little overwhelmed on how to decide the best one to enable good savings for my son's future
How much would the market have to plummet for you to consider reallocating some medium-term savings from high yield savings account into an index fund?
Saw lots of posts about rentals and wanted to share my experience as someone who currently has 14 units that I am currently looking to sell.
Pros : cheap real estate in PA, good cashflow when all tenants pay, PA is an easy state to evict someone if they aren't paying (unlike NY/NJ)
Cons : Cheap real estate usually means not the best area, tenants are all liars, random expenses fall on your head, if you dont live near the area you have to pay someone to do everything for you which adds up and may
Should I lump sum $150k into the market or DCA? Just looking to grow the money, no other short term plans.
Thinking about adding my child as an additional cardholder on Amex or other credit cards to build up their credit. I don't know if they're ready to actually have the card in their possession, but idea would be to establish early credit history.
Does it work? Is the purpose really to "build their habits" as Amex website suggests, or do they actually benefit from a longer credit history & piggyback off my good credit? First-gen professional here, so appreciate advice & resources.
Quick question: will you buy vanguard index funds through a vanguard account or their ETF versions through Robinhood or Ameritrade (already have Robinhood and Ameritrade) ?
Trying to build a strategy focused on index funds.
27 F. Work as 1st year associate in Big Law NYC. Base salary $215k, bonus is ~$10k (lowballing), student loans are $150k, total savings are about $100k. 0 family money and will likely be supporting parents long term. Any advice on how/when to start investing in real estate. Currently have all savings in market (with personal investing in index funds or 401K/RothIRA/mega back door).
Have any of you thought about parking some of your emergency funds in a muni bond (tax exempt) etf? I have ~1yrs worth of cash in High yield checking/savings accounts (2% interest), but am in the top tax bracket and am worried about the tax drag. I know munis have performed abysmally with the fed tightening, but am wonder if most of the pain is priced in at this point. Thoughts?
Received a letter from Wells Fargo today. They are offering a refinance of fixed 30 year mortgage at 3.5%. I have no idea how they can do this judging by today’s interest rates. Currently my interest rate is at 4.5%. Judging by Wells Fargo sketchy history, I don’t trust it, however has anyone else gotten this offer?
25 y.o. If I plan to move to the EU in 2-3 years due to my partner relocating and settling down there, is it worth it to save in IRA/401k? I’m obviously doing what my company matches because free money, but otherwise I don’t know what’s best for planning for the future/retirement.
At what amount of money would it be dumb to throw into an HYSA as an emergency fund? (Above 5k, 15k, 20k, 50k?)
Home owners - when submitting your taxes, do you mention how much you pay for HOA? Is there any form to fill out or do we get any reimbursement for paying yearly HOA?
I am from Turkey and looking for alternatives to invest my USD savings. Any suggestions?
Maybe it’s a little lower stress knowing you don’t truly need the job but barista FIRE doesn’t sound particularly low stress to me. Retail and food service jobs are basically treated poorly by the company and the customer.
It doesn’t have the best benefits like a typical job, but housesitting is something my parents do. They are able to travel to housesit and don’t have to pay for lodging.
Wow! That’s crazy. Love it
Not sure about the bennies but my barista FIRE dream job is a gift shop cashier in a national park
Usher at a performing arts center like the Kennedy Center or Lincoln Center.
Apparently Trader Joe’s has great benefits.
My mom went to TJ's after she semi-retired from education administration. She got great benefits, and loved talking to people! But, she had a hard time waking up in the early mornings and doing inventory/unloading.
Then with COVID, she decided it wasn't worth it to be in a grocery job (She's also late 60's). But, the culture and the support and the people were amazing - definitely recommend it if you are an extrovert who likes to see people daily and work in a fast-paced environment.
My list of jobs - staff at concert venue or stadium, campground host, dog walker/ pet sitter
No benefits, but I see many people do independent consulting / expert calls / interview prep on an hourly basis for extra cash
Dog walker or scuba dive master. Probably dogs because can’t be asked to deal with people after years of babysitting borrowers…
Also curious especially the ones that offer medical/dental
Id become a dog walker, or learn wood working
I am super interested!
I got my PhD at a young age but think will it be Batista fire to get another phd or do a postdoc?
