Aside from 401k, I have a brokerage account with tax efficient funds from vanguard along with traditional ira that I contribute to.

What are the tax efficient funds you invested in vanguard? Can we contribute to traditional IRA if the salary is greater than 130k

Deloitte fish, when does health insurance kick in for new hires? Exactly 30 (calendar) days from start date, or do you have to wait 30 days from the first of the following month (so if you joined June 2, you’d effectively have to wait until Aug 1 for your benefits to kick in)? TIA!

Hi Hexaware,
This question is for my brother.
He joined h3xaware as fresher this year and has unknowingly declared medical insurance for parent. As I am already having another medical coverage for them. Is there a way to opt out of the insurance from portal.
It caused a deduction of 2k from his salary and is not required.

Any information on this or process will be really appreciated

Hello all! in the cruise sales industry for about 8 years. always been a top producer but my last job I was at a cruise line that went belly up. Salaries in cruise industry are very low 20-40k and work hours are awful. I’ve always been a top performer everywhere I go (making 150kish a year) but am seeing these six figure salaries in saas sales etc. Do saas companies hire top producers from other industries? Where is a good place to start? Ton of experience in sales force and coaching others too.

When people say they can withdraw 4% of their brokerage account in retirement, are they just selling down 4% of stock per year or no longer reinvesting the dividends and keep it’s cash? I ask because lots of people like VOO but their dividend is less than 2%. You’d have to sell 4% of the balance every year for cash flow.

I hit my 401k pre-tax and ROTH contribution limit of $19,500 early (didn’t change my allocation when I got bonuses). I have also already hit my max company match. With the extra income, should I:

2) max out pre-tax and ROTH IRA

3) make extra monthly payments towards my mortgage

4) invest elsewhere such as brokerage account or crypto

I normally end up saving one of my paychecks post tax (~5500). The first one goes towards rent, food, and other miscellaneous things while the other normally goes entirely into my savings (my 401k, HSA, and IRA are all maxed out, and I have no debt). Should I be pushing for more? I dont zero-base budget, largely because I like to travel a fair amount and it tends to be somewhat unpredictable. What can I do to get into a better position? I’m 27 if that matters, and I’m considering bschool.

Beginner level question from a newbie on the journey:
When people talk about retiring at the age of 40 and 45 - where are they pulling the funds from to live off of? Aren't most of these funds that make up your net worth tied up in investments that have tax penalties for withdrawals (Roth, 401K etc)? Do you liquidate at the point that you decide to retire?
