In my career (3 YOE) I’ve always worked in the Financial Services industry but have always had a passion for Life Science and Health Care and want to work in those industries instead. I’ve heard from multiple people at the PPMD level that this is a common situation and many people want to switch between those industries. Is this true? Are there other industries that people like to switch between? Why do you think this is?

Probably because it feels more rewarding. I worked on a healthcare strategy project, outside of my current alignment, and I felt a different sense of satisfaction. This sh*t was gonna help save lives. I was working with doctors nationwide. Just my take!

Exactly everytime ive worked in LSHC. I’ve felt like I’ve been making an impact. FS makes me feel like I’m just making them man richer

I’m working Health and Public Service and looking to switch to FS. I’m much more interested in capital markets than insurance. Personal finance is a big passion of mine.

The plan side of Health Care isn’t too interesting they’re just like Life Insurance Companies in FS. I’m more interested in BioTech/pharmacy and provider

Hi all, I have the long-term goal of ultimately getting into a good Venture Capital firm at Associate level. I currently work at Amazon , did my undergrad and Masters in Economics at LSE. I have 2 main questions:
1) Is it even possible/feasible to pivot from Amazon to VC given my background?
2) I have the option to internally transfer in Amazon to a product/program manager role or AWS in a start-up Manager role - which of these would be best to maximise my chances of eventually getting into VC?

What are some technical skills or subjects I should get a better understanding of to better position myself? I am by no means an engineer, but it would help me understand what is possible with today's technology vs fantasy.

I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.

Planning to practice IP transactions/prosecution/litigation. I have work exp/clerk/extern but no associate exp.
