In my early 40s. Never had a chance to practice FIRE because of many family responsibilities (parents, siblings, etc). Never a big spender though but saving only about $1000 a month despite $200k+ pay.
Looking for info regarding Impel Neuropharmaceuticals: culture, work like balance, benefits … I’d love input from anyone who works/worked there.

RN here for 14 years. Bedside for 11 years. A little OR, critical care, Med-Surg. Did Case Mgmt and now doing Concurrent Review. I need a job that pays me above 95K and I started doing my NP in Psych but I just want to quit. Is there a way to get into Information Technology on the Healthcare side? I’ve reached out to a few programs that offer Master’s in Nursing Informatics or Data Analysis. Is there a job market for either of these 2 degrees? I have to find a way out.
Hi Fishes ,
I joined CitiusTech recently in July 2022. As per their offer letter Retention pay is around 1.2 lakhs per year . If i leave the organisation now should I pay back 2.4 lakhs ?

How would a lean six sigma green belt benefit me in healthcare? I have 8 years management, 20+ customer service, 7 years healthcare experience and BA IN Healthcare Management. I'm looking to obtain the certification in January. Would love some insights. Thanks you in advance!
Hello! I've recently relocated to India from the US. I have an MPH with 4 years of mixed experience in healthcare consulting, USAID project management and pharma supply chain management. Are you aware of any consulting vacancies for healthcare professionals in India? Please comment if you're hiring or if you'd be open to being a referral.
I’m starting my first year as partner and really underestimated the cash flow challenges I’ve always heard about. With 3 kids, my health insurance is 5x, plus the tax burden, and despite a $100k bump, my cash flow is less. Aside from just being conservative, any advice? My spouse is really confused why a promotion causes financial challenge!
My firm is forcing everyone to go back to the office this month. While I don’t mind being in the office, I’m an Asian woman and terrified of taking the subway given all the recent anti-Asian incidents. Is it reasonable to ask for some sort of transportation reimbursement? An Uber is around $40 which is insane, but I guess there’s a lot of demand since others are in the same boat.
For context, I’m a senior associate at a V50 in NYC.
If I've maxed out my TFSA, should I continue investing through an RRSP or a personal investment account?
For context, I also have a good pension. My main concern is that while the RRSP will be nice to lower my taxable income now, I'm worried when I retire I'll have to withdraw too much from both the RRSP and pension. Thoughts?
May have an opportunity to transition out of patient care into working remotely from home doing healthcare Recruiting. Would be a pay cut, is it worth it ?
Looking for remote healthcare roles that I can operate from Southeast Asia during a gap year (I am a dual-national). Flexible with anything that allows me to build on skills like project management, analytics, PI/QI, and anything else among the delivery of care. I will be a recent grad with internship/project experience in healthcare strategy roles. Looking for ideas, referrals, or just a chance to connect 😊
I work as a Digital Strategist for an agency that specializes in consulting for the public sector. I would like to work at a consulting firm like Deloitte, PwC, Booz Allen Hamilton, or EY. I am wondering if anyone knows the differences and benefits between the digital marketing transformation divisions at these consulting firms?
Hi I’m looking to make a career change. I’m looking for HR Program/Project Manager roles. I have 8+ years of experience in full cycle HR and project management.
In my Current role I’ve developed and managed two large training programs, one of which was awarded a $1.4M grant, and both have been a great success.
Does anyone have any remote leads they’d be open to referring? My background involves government and healthcare and I’m proficient in JIRA and am open to other industries. Thanks!
I'm new here and in the country. Recently moved to Bangalore, India from Cape Town after my wedding.
I've received the following opportunities as UX Designer.
22LPA +1LJB + 2K monthly Expenditure + Quarterly Bonus based on Company Performance
30LPA + 1.5L Variable + 3L ESOP.
Both seem great companies.
What would be great in the long run in terms of taxes and benefits ?
Are there any employment benefits to writing a technical blog on LinkedIn?
I get that knowledge and research skills improve when we write a blog. Will it get the attention of recruiters? Will it give me an edge over others? (During the job interview)
Thanks and have a great week ahead!
I hope all of you are doing well! I am new to Fishbowl and new to the Healthcare field. I very recently graduated with a B.A. in Human Resource Management and currently working as a Sourcing Specialist for TidalHealth - a large healthcare group in my area.
I was introduced to this app by a colleague of mine and am hoping to have a positive and education experience! I will be trying my best to keep interacted with members here and learn as much as I can.
Does anybody know if Loyola Medicine Trinity Healthcare in Chicago gives their nurses differential?
I’m on maternity leave with my first kid and I am fairly certain I want to look for a new gig once I return. Either that or never work again lol, but also jk.
The question is: how do you look for jobs that need a start date of April without revealing you’re on maternity leave? I hear you’re not supposed to mention the whole motherhood thing when interviewing.
Any advice on meeting new people when you relocate to a new city? Been in Des Moines for about 3 months now and still haven’t really met anyone.
Have a recruiter that reached out to me. We talked for a few minutes on the phone and red flag when submitting was asking for the last 4 of my social…
I told them I don’t feel comfortable doing that.. then they said ok, then he said can you send me your most recent resume and a photo of your ID, that I can blank out any personal information but it is to confirm identity…
Am I crazy or does that sound like a scam …
Anyone recruiting for Data Strategy roles?
What’s the difference between pay-off letters and UCC-3s? I though pay offs were for accounts, whereas UCC-3 (obviously) are for liens. Partner is asking for both for all liens that popped up in lien searches
Since it seems like there are a lot of people new to the city here, what's your favorite thing about living in Denver?
Many US salaries posted here, can we get some European and Scandinavian salaries?
For example, what’s the range for a SC in big4 in Scandinavia?
Remember the currency (EUR, SEK, DKK, GBP etc.)
Anyone from FTI consulting in here??
Hope you had a great Monday! 😊
Is this true?
Rising 2nd year here: been rethinking my choice as an M&A attorney. I've had a rough go of it over the first year-and-a-half of practice and am thinking about moving to a different practice area. I'd like to stay on the transactional side, but am not quite sure what areas I can leverage my corporate and M&A skills in. I was thinking T&E (i.e. business succession planning, etc.)
Would greatly appreciate input from others.

Soon to be graduating from an MBA, and won't be able to attend a graduation ceremony or grad party - is it something life changing that I'll be missing out on?
Those that can please assist:
I’m a mechanical engineer working for an aerospace company but I want to make the transition into tech. During my last 2 semesters of college, I took some coding classes and realized this is what I really wanted to do. I graduated in December, 2021 and have been teaching myself programming ever since. I still have a log to learn but I want to eventually land a job at HubSpot or Spotify. In the meantime I’m looking for mentors. Is anybody willing to chat and offer some advice and connections?
What is the male equivalent of the conversation I just had: being advised not to “huff up on stage” like “little miss bossy boots” and “try to take take charge” of my own spot, on set.

For any real estate investors
22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I am set to pay off my college loans by next year and, when I do, I want to look into investing into real estate. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get into/learn more about real estate investing? Or how I can have enough knowledge on the topic to be able to invest wisely when the time comes?
Any books? youtubers? etc. How did you all learn about it?

Thoughts on the accuracy and validity of this table? Is a $429k net worth at 35 really that good? Source: FinancialSamurai Edit: added link to the article https://www.financialsamurai.com/the-average-net-worth-for-the-above-average-person/
I’m looking for assistance on building your own portfolio in my traditional 401K. I’ve been reading that it’s important to choose funds with low expense ratios. Also, that it is recommended to have at least one US stock, international stock , and bond. I am 24yo so ideally, I’d want to allocate 90%-100% to stocks and 0%-10% to the bond. Any other things I should be looking at?
I have a lot of student debt from law school. I’ve refinanced a couple of times and received the best fixed rate available, but I’ve seen others refinance with a variable rate which of course is lower. I’ve read some other comments of people refinancing at a super low variable rate....isn’t this risky? Of course I am afraid of going variable and then the interest rates going up a lot. Am I missing something?
We have HHI of 260k excluding bonus. Currently own a house (current value is 440k) with 45% mortgage remaining. Planning to buy a new house of 500k. Combined mortgage of both house would be approx 4.7k per month. We both max out 401k and I normally invest 25k via megadoor roth + 2 529s for both kids. Q is Can I afford new house or should I sell current buy and book the profit since realty mkt is so high and our house has the max value currently?
Where is the tipping point?
When do believe you will have enough wealth that it will grow inevitably and create the lifestyle you ultimately want.
I’m 36 and I recently reached a net worth of 1 million dollars. I thought I was doing good but then I see other people with several millions and can’t help but wonder how they got there.
I feel I’m doing everything I’m supposed to (I save, I invest, I max out my 401k, IRA, etc...).
What can I do to upgrade my game and reach those higher numbers?
Looking at refinancing my home and I’m trying to figure out how to best include additional equity in the equation since I’d go to a shorter term, but effectively keep the same payment ($50 more per month). If I roll all of the closing costs into the loan, I show myself coming out ahead immediately due to gaining nearly $500 in additional equity.
Am I missing something in how I should treat that equity? It seems too good to be true to be ahead Day 1.
So, I’m struggling. Used to be a pathological saver and had tons on money anxiety. Now, I have totally fallen victim to lifestyle creep and need to cut back on frivolous expenses (eating out and clothing). I’m SO ashamed that my monthly spend is so high (approx $7k/month). I make big law money and can afford it but I am stunned at how easily I spend money now. I’d like to divert more of that cash to retirement, but I need to rein in that spending before I do. Good god.
Should you max out retirement accounts (401k/Roth) first each year before investing into a brokerage account(VOO ETF, for example). I like the idea of ETFs because they pay dividends and can withdrawal at any point. I am 24 btw. Thoughts?
Goal : by EOD today I want to transfer 50k into my first HYSA ever . Challenge : I don’t have a hysa . Help a noob out ! 👩🏽 (p.s. I do have 50 k in my account )
My final paycheck last year got cut on 12/31, including about a $2500 401(k) contribution. That deposit did not hit my 401(k) account until Jan. 3, 2022 because of the holiday. Does that get counted against my 2021 or 2022 contribution limit?

$100k buys 1 to 3 rental properties that all should cashflow. Over time, that cashflow should increase as rents increase. You could also leverage some of your home equity to buy more properties.
There’s also options to buy dividend-paying stocks, but I think you would stand to have more consistent and predictable income from the rental properties
I would research a property manager independent of the turnkey provider. If a turnkey provider asks to be the property management, it makes me question the quality of any repairs. In general, I would encourage trying to find a turnkey provider that a few investors have used and would refer via bigger pockets or another group like that.
Just to clarify. $100k/yr post tax.
Is the $1k/month excluding max 401k, IRA, and HSA? Around $70k I started maxing mine out, but now with triple the salary and family responsibilities I still invest additional thousands per month in 529/brokerage. Family still goes on trips, etc.
I would look into index funds or specific tech company you like! Start dollar cost averaging and investing frequently and watch the compound interest grow!!
Do you mind sharing why you had to take care of your siblings and what that looked like?
SM1, i agree. That is amazing. Huge leaps for future generations.
My parents and grandparents were immigrants, but their work was manual labor/restaurant work and lots of skimping and paycheck to paycheck. Same as many others in my generation. Supporting and Housing super extended families together (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.)
OP and this current generation has power to accelerate that many times with today's knowledge in addition to jobs and opportunities. Great work ethic and family loyalty!
