About 6 months ago I applied for a team lead role and didn't get it. My boss, in recognition of my efforts (and maybe being a little scared that I'd quit) gave me a 13% raise, and minor promotion to get better clients. A recruiter reached out to me a little over a month ago for a role with a start-up company. I went through the 1st interview with the hiring manager. I asked him if their were any concerns with me as a candidate, he said my technical background. However, my other strengths outweighed that concern.

2:30ish pm I received a call about the job offer. Recruiter sent the offer letter through approval. CEO didn’t agree with decision & they will not move forward.

I am running into quite similar issues in almost all of the companies I have worked so far: Most of the senior engineers just exclude me in the important technical meetings whereas I am doing an important part (technical) of a project. They either think I am not knowledgeable enough for a particular task or just that I am good at doing some non-technical/manual task. Received an offer from a top FAANG for a 250% increase in TC. However, I was initially interviewing for a position that was remote and yet the final offer does not provide that option, non-negotiable. I have a wife and 2-year-old child and another one due in 7 months, and currently live near both sets of grandparents.

Is working at a top FAANG really worth that kind of cost? I'm leaning heavily 'no' but it's not making it easy to sleep at night knowing I'm sitting on this kind of offer!
