I agree if you aren’t setting up your own appointments you should be then you can add focus time on Fridays or administrative tasks that you need to get done. I always try to front load client meetings and candidate calls to be done by Wednesday afternoon at the latest so I can catch up on anything that needs to be done at the end of the week
Block your schedule on Friday or part of Friday. As a recruiter, i went to “no meeting Fridays” so that i could catch up, work on corresponding back with candidates and updates with leaders. Most of my screens took place Tuesday-Thursdays.
I usually front load my week with phone screens, so I chase the HMs for feedback on Thursday and Friday.
Are you not setting your own appointments? I alway block an hour in the morning and the afternoon each day to allow me catch up. If Friday’s are crazy for you and you need slow things down start blocking your calendar or reschedule calls for early the following week.
Fridays have slowly become one of my busiest days of the week. I've started blocked my calendar so I can focus more on sourcing activities on that day.
