Cases are rising in northern va area - my dad got it from grocery or retail shopping (didn’t travel or host for the holidays) and now the whole fam is sick. Very fortunate to have mild enough cases to recover at home but still no picnic. Early symptoms for us were severe headache, mild fever, and extreme fatigue.

From my experience people are good about wearing in public indoor places (like grocery stores) but they may be the less effective face coverings (like bandanas or snoods) or may slip below the nose (ugh) - the uptick in cases seems to be from gatherings from the holidays

In Southern California it’s been increasing since November. I’m seeing more and more mutual people and now friends catch it (late 20’s-early 30’s) Thankfully they’re moderate symptoms but it’s getting scarier seeing it affect closer within my circle.

Yeah scary California covid #s. Please stay healthy and sane!

So direct knowledge here. Most people I know testing positive have no symptoms and feel just fine (no joke). Or if anything usually some discomfort and feel better in less than a week. They only tested due to school, sports, and required testing so otherwise would never volunteer to testing. I don’t know how but SMH. They are super humans?

P1 - do you know of anyone who has passed away bc of this virus? Probably now, but I do. The reason 10 months into this and the situation is worst is bc of people with attitude like yours. You should ashamed. And I am sure your attitude will change if it ever hit closer to home. Go live your live.

Our school district still hasn’t gone back into the classrooms, except for a small population of special ed classes. Grades K-2 are tentatively scheduled to go back in January, but I bet it gets pushed back. We did send our 4 year old back to her small private preschool, but they have good covid precautions and no cases/exposure so far (knock on wood).

Lots of outbreaks and hospitals on the breaking point in my region. Also lots of parents in my neighborhood shouting it’s all a hoax and their kids HAVE to be back in school in person immediately because it’s ruining their development, so they’re starting petitions to demand schools reopen for all ages ASAP.

P1 - I think the people screaming about how online school is ruining their kids’ development are the same people in those viral videos screaming about their rights to the poor employees at Costco who won’t let them in without a mask. They could also be folks from the “People of Walmart” web site. I’m more worried about their kids’ development because of the parents than I am about online school.

Same here - very glad we chose a whole year of virtual school. It is harder for us day to day, but health is our number one priority.

at least you have a report. In Pasco County and Hillsboroug County in FL.... we ain't hearing shit.. Hillsborough is worse. Wifey teaches there..then again, it's DeSantis running the show so... shitshow all around.. We live in Pasco though.. Keeping kids home..but that too is just breaking my back.. gotta work and handle my multiple kids.. Safety is paramount tho..😢 #notlookingforwardtogoingbacktowork

I know, it just sucks all around. Hang in there.

In my county, we had twice the number of cases in Nov than we had in all March-Oct total. Dec doubled Nov numbers.

I really do not understand my company's attendance policy. No sick or personal time and each time you have unscheduled PTO it's considered an occurence. Its super restrictive and during a pandemic you risk people coming to work sick spreading what could potentially be Covid. I just don't get it. I understand they are running a business but it just shows you really don't care about your employees at all but yet you want them to care about this company and the work being done here.

Lost retainer beginning of pandemic and haven’t been able to get replacement (Covid/Moving Out of State/ Other Priorities). What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

Tired of being shamed by family for the precautions I’m taking to ensure my family, including 2-month-old, are not putting ourselves in any situation that may cause unnecessary risk of contracting covid. Was called selfish for not attending a bday party (ironic), was made to feel bad when I asked family (who had travelled to Florida for fun, gone out to bars/restaurants, etc.) to get tested before coming to see the newborn. Just be respectful of how others are dealing with the pandemic, please!

Ladies, I need advice. I’m mid-20s and feeling painfully lost. For most of my younger years, my identity was rooted heavily in my friendships and social life. Graduating college and then obviously the pandemic took a toll on that, I moved home and many of my friends left the city I had lived in pre-covid. Flash forward to the world reopening, I don’t like my job, my friends live all over, I have a nonexistent love life, and I don’t know what to do next
