In need of some advice… feeling very discouraged. I’m no. 2 in charge and my function and salary is that of a VP (I work for a brick and mortar ASC/physician practice, as well as a telemedicine company). However, we are a small org and don’t use titles like that. I’m trying to move forward and expand into larger healthcare organizations, however I feel I’m being rejected before my resume is even reviewed because of my job title. Any recommendations? Not willing to take a step back

Try networking directly with a Vp or director of a large health system that may be hiring for a position you are interested in. I work in a hospital and need to force my recruiter to send me resumes because I don’t trust their judgement

like

How long have you been in your current role? I’m assuming your title is with them is a Director or Executive Director?

I don’t know your location but in my experience within a larger system, a VP is a service line leader for several specialties or a large primary care group. I think a director role within a large organization may align with what you’re looking for and have a broader scope than maybe you’re anticipating. Again, I don’t know all of your specifics or the comp level you’re hoping for via this move.

Applied here and interviewed (presumably to the final round) and didn’t end up with an offer, I think due to the specific experience I’ve had so far. To go or not to go: I’ve been interviewing with a few firms and am waiting for potential offers or third rounds of interviews. Currently debating whether to attend a local bar association holiday party for my area of law where it’s very likely that my various interviewers will be attending. Would you go? Unfortunately, I don’t have any friends that will be attending as well. Concern is that it could do more harm than good.

I received an offer from a hospital, I accepted it with the director, signed some paperwork for a background check and sent it back. It has been 3 weeks so far, the person I spoke to said HR should’ve sent me consent forms already, I’ve dug through my email and found nothing, I’ve reached out to HR as well but they won’t speak to me since I am not an employee. What do I do? I’m stuck in limbo.
